I think that we'll again make the play-offs, against Finn Harps, and controversially lose to Drogheda or some equally crappy premier outfit in the final. A decent run in the FAI Cup will generate badly needed dosh. Nice of Pike to allow us to extend our stay, and touch wood, nobody bar Stevo is seeking to leave so it looks promising. On the down side, twitch is off to Oz and some of the lads are drinking like fishes off season and thats a bad sign.
All in all, I predict a slow start, culminatiing in a big boom of a finish!!:)

I know its a new year and all that and we should be optimistic but hang on a minute.

Great news that nobody bar Stevo is looking to leave (though maybe when offers come in?). But that means we are down Stevo and Twitch. The only striker in our squad is Derek. Also, I know Mike Kerley can do the impossible but miracles might be stretching it. To get into the play-offs witha squad of 12 including himself?

Can we realistically attract quality players? If we can then should we not be trying to hold on to Stevo?

Has anyone any news on possible additions to the squad?

I hate but to be a pessimist - but its just my small time nature coming out again. :)

Eoin Keating's gone aswell if he makes the final panel for the Limerick footballers, and by all accounts not only will he make it, i'm told he'll probably be a starter. He'll be a massive loss in midfield. So who's Stevo off to? Have the club offered any contracts to the current squad? Any attempts to find new revenue streams?

I'm wary of being too optimistic to be honest. Look what happened to Cobh this season. The squad is going to need new faces, realistically at least 4 players.

Mmmm. But at least he'll be available after they're knocked out of the Championship. So we'll get him in May or so. :)

First round of the football championship in May, they have a handy passage which will bring them right through to the final at the end of July, and then they are guaranteed at least one more 'back door' game after that, ie mid-august at the very earliest.:(
Stevo has had an offer from Dublin City, I know Cork are also interested.
Apparently there was a potential €50k investor, but this was reliant upon football in the Markets Field, so thats a non-runner. I also hear that JP is going full time as the clubs commercial manager so we're saved!!

Quote from todays Examiner.

"Kearns (Limerick manager) was delighted with Limerick's win over Roscommon last week when the star of the show was Limerick FC's Owen (sic) Keating, who has pledged allegiance to the county team".

Oh well. :(

From what I have been told the Money IS in the Bank. The Club met Mike Kerley last night to secure him for the coming season.

Who's the investor then? Is it for next season, or beyond that?
