Londonred brought up the point that on May 29 we're playing Dundalk in Oriel Park, but Ireland are playing Nigeria in London at the same time so I wonder if the day of the game may change?? Doubtful as the whole league would be affected, maybe a Dundalk fan could clear it up?
Assuming that the Derry game in The Showgrounds, scheduled for June 6, will be moved. Ireland are playing Bulgaria in Sofia at 6.30pm that day so our game will be probably be moved to the Friday night.

I asked about this on the Dundalk forum about 2 weeks ago. They didn't seem to think it'd be affected. Although Galway changed theirs so maybe...

Surely they wouldn't move the game for a bloody friendly?
They'd better not anyway as Dundalk's my first game of the season and I've already booked flights and accommodation for the night!

I'd say every LoI club will shift their games to suit the OIreland game. Dundalk used to play their home games on Thursday nights, so id say they'll have no problem switching it??

Why didnt you go to the ireland match in London and book for a different rovers game? Was it booked earlier than the irish friendly?

Yeah I'd booked flights for the Dundalk game a few weeks before the Nigeria match was announced (it was the first game that I was able to fit in holiday wise before the summer).
To be honest, the Ireland friendlies in London are not usually that good anyway but when I saw the clash I did think "b*ll*cks!"
It was mentioned on a different forum that it's FAI policy not to allow league games to be played at the same time as Ireland matches. I can't say that I've heard this before but if so it seems a bit ridiculous (if typically FAI) to release the LOI fixtures and then announce a friendly a few weeks after...
Ho hum...
