I don't have an issue with the political message, in fact I'm against Lisbon, however I have a major issue with Libertas. Do I block the ad?

EDIT: Might as well make it democratic, poll added

Nah, let them waste their money.

Absolutely. A sinister ad (note the use of red) by a sinister organisation. I'd be opposed to political ads generally.

Though I feel there is a sinister ( American led ) undercurrent , I still beleive we are a free country and they are entitled ,as we all are , to an opinion. Anyway if it's a source of revenue , leave it there.

I'd agree with that.

Any way of seeing how many clicks it gets from here?

I don't like or agree with Libertas but they are now a political party like any other. If you block them you have to block others?

How much does Mr. Ganley ahve to pay everything I click the link? :p

I'd like to waste his money too. How much does it cost him?

dahamsta, isn't it a bit ironic to introduce democracy to a thread about Libertas? :)

I was for blocking them, but the idea of costing that sinister nutcase money sounds bloody good to me.

Did you consider the FF ad put on all postal envelopes in the state a number of years ago a sinister ad?

All Libertas is asking is that you sign a petition. Compared to FF, they're squeaky clean.

I voted No to blocking them. Everybogy should get there chance to speak...even if what they say is rubbish...how else would I get to speak? :D

No it shouldn't be blocked. I've no time for them (or for Lisbon for that matter) but I don't have a problem with the ad, freedom of speech and all that.

What does freedom of speech have to do with it? If it was displayed in rotation with ads for the other political parties that might be an issue. As it is, it's only there because Libertas have the money to waste.

All for freedom of speech. Anyway I never read the ads so dont give a dam.

Regardless of your personal opinion, what they're saying isn't illegal, so IMO you don't have any right to deny them their ad.

A blanket ban on political advertising might be a better idea.

Thats the reason I voted yes.

freedom of speech and all that.

There's no freedom of speech on here

rightly so

I don't like or agree with Libertas but they are now a political party like any other. This is the issue I have with Libertas. It's not a political party like any other, it's a party that's privately funded by an arms dealer.

I'll go with the majority though, it's pretty conclusive. For the record, I don't know how much the ad generates, stats are aggregated.

Thanks guys.

Cut from the same cloth. Doing the work of their corporate pay masters.

If it was my site I'd get rid of it but sure I'll get them when I fill in my ballot paper.

Anyone else notice how they reversed the 'yes' and 'no' to make them appear more progressive?

I voted yes, they annoy me and there's no right to free speech on a messageboard.

Childish, maybe but my response to that is:p

You might get rid of another ad, the one which flashes........I think it is for a game or something, it says "level 1", "level 2", "level 3". Pretty annoying.

Spreading their inaccuracies already, their new ad says something like: "Should you be allowed to vote on the European Constitution? - Brussels says no"
