Can anyone tell me how many league goals both these lads have scored in their LOI careers?

158 Stephen Geoghegan
156 Johnny Matthews

This is from the FAI site last week, so after last night, it's Glen on 149 and jayo on 148

I was so hoping this thread was going to be about a freak injury/arrest/holiday/yachting accident that had occurred to both today that will keep them out for oh....say, about a week...

Are you suggesting the FAI site could be wrong?!
Actually, i remember it being said that Byrne was on 145 after last week's goal, so that would make your figures right.

Can I have whatever you're smokin'?! :p
Does anyone think one of them will make past Brendan Bradley? More than 80 goals off it... Would be a great achievement.

Either of them would have to keep scoring 20 goals a season until they're 35...ain't gonna happen.

No chance of either of them catching Bradley but they will both pass the next few ahead of them and go ahead of Donal Leahy. Catching Turley and Morley is a possibility for one or both of them if they remain injury free for the next few seasons.

The way Byrne is scoring lately I can see him hitting 25 this season, staying injury and free and having few suspensions. Glen isn't as prolific as he used to be. Still playing well, great in the build up and a perfect foil for Byrne but not scoring as many goals. Maybe a bit of competition between them will change that though.

Get over it. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Isles) Don't hear the Brits complaining about the term "Irish Sea".

It's an irritating geopolitical term, which has it's roots in imperialist aggression. It's completely understandable that people in Ireland object to it's usage.
'Irish Sea' the other hand has no such geopolitical connotations.

The claim was that it doesn't exist. That's nonsense.
I don't particularly like the phrase either, but the post quoted was clearly rubbish. There's a subtle difference.

I think you'll find that it is geographers that use the term most. It is quite common in any geography texts dealing with 'these islands'. Political academics on the other hand would be more likely to avoid using it..
