geraldines got the nice side of the draw and could easliy win it out.
i'd pick mungeret from the other side of the draw if they keep up their league form. good luck to all involved and heres hoping for some shocks :)

Croom would have to be in with a chance on current form. They beat Dines recently didn't they?

If they were at home I'd give them a great chance but away from home and playing more than likely midweek, could be there downfall.

They beat us in mungret, was the first game we lost in the league since august 2007! So i think its a tough draw for dines especially after the last result between the two sides. I can see the season going on until July at this rate. Another four games in this competition for two teams

For some teams there are 7 league games left and if you include a cup run in that with a potential lawson cup run that will be nearly 15 games left in the season, and to have that played off in basically a month, I think it'll be too much for some teams and will, hopefully not, run on into june and july. The season has dragged on so long this year, I know we cant do anything about the weather, its just very fustrating.

Mungret have received a walkover from Cappamore. Seemingly Cappamore could only field 7 signed "A" players. As they can't play their "B" players in this competition they didn't feel they could fulfill the fixture. Other teams might struggle with this rule aswell seeing as the season has dragged on this long.

Think the winners of Thursday's game between Dines v Balla will have to play the semi final v Shannon Town on Sunday (instead of the league game), as the Cup Final is fixed for next Friday 05th.
Losers of Balla v Dines wont have a game on Sunday (same applies to Star v Summerville which is on Thursday also).

Dines 5-2 Balla B. Good performance in the first half, went in 4-1 up. Took the foot off the gas second half and almost let Balla back into it. They're a better side than the league suggests

not a great game by any stretch, too many soda's for lads watching the united game on both sides:D:D
dines played well in first half but we gifted them goals, they took them well but 3 were gifts,
came back into it in second half, got back to 4-2 and pressed hard but defending cost us again, tough game in the heat this evening,
best of luck to dines in the rest of the comp

every chance if we play like we did against ye,no doubt they were better for a lot of the game last night but when you give gifts to any team, never mind one of the best teams in the league they wil punish you,we will give it a go

Dines 1-1 Shannon...Dines won 3-1 on penalties,
Very hard fought game that could of gone either way. Goalkeeping error gave Shannon a half time lead they deserved. Second half we really took the game to them and got our reward. A Christy O Neill screamer from 30 yards off the bar and in. We shaded it after that but both sides had chances to win the game. We felt at full time we'd left it behind us but our goalkeeper was the hero in the shootout saving twice. Two very evenly matched teams and it went right to the wire as it has in the league.

Dines 2-1 Mungret (AET)
Dines missed a peno at nil all, Mungret then went in 1 up before HT, through a keeper error from a free kick.
Dines drew level with 5 mins to go and went on to win it in ET.
Mungret had their keeper (who is also their manager) sent off late in ET for a second yellow card, for picking up a back pass!!!!!!!!!!
With Mungret already missing their first choice keeper (who is away) now must make do without the back up keeper v Pike in the Lawson on Sunday.
Overall The Dines were the better team on the night and deserved the win.

Fair play to the Dines last night, they wanted the cup more than we did and deserved to win the game. Mungret have no excuses, we couldn't get into the game and didn't play well.
Hope the Dines beat balla on tuesday, they deserve to go up to the Premier.
