Nope. He signed for them, then changed his mind and decided to retire from the LOI.

Eric Lavine holds the record as the only player to have ever scored 4 goals in a League of Ireland match

That can't be true?

Brendan Bradley scored six in one game against Sligo as well, and I recall a Cobh players scoring six a few years ago.

Would Eric really be 38 as that site says?. Didn't think he was that old, would have thought he was about 35-36, though maybe he was shaving years off himself when he was here!.

I remember meeting him in Blazers in August 2001 after the Lovech 1-1 draw in Flancare & he told me he was 30. That makes him at least 37 & if the site says he is 38 then he must be 38.
Bet he can still cut a mean rug.

Seven is the record. Somebody for St James's Gate (Jimmy Munro maybe?) back in the 30s against one of the Cork teams. A good few players have scored six... Bradley, Warren, Johnny Ledwidge for Shels, Sammy Gill for Waterford. There are others.
