There has been a small outbreak of “zombism” in London due to mutation of the H1N1 virus into new strain: H1Z1.

Similar to a scare originally found in Cambodia back in 2005, victims of a new strain of the swine flu virus H1N1 have been reported in London.

Crazy!

Word of advice, don't bother calling the swine flu helpline set up, the line is so bad all you get is crackling!

This is really journo heaven at the moment, and there is more hot air more than common sense.

Swine Flu isn't killing anyone outside of Mexico. Still, it gives the WHO something to do for a while.

It allows the WHO to justify their jobs.

Martial law bill passed in Massachusetts (http://www.infowars.com/swine-flu-martial-law-bill-clears-massachusetts-senate/)

It took corporate media swine flu hysteria to ram through a martial law bill in Massachusetts. S18 gives the Governor the power to authorize the deployment and use of force to distribute supplies and materials and local authorities will be allowed to enter private residences for investigation and to quarantine individuals.

Excellent article here (http://www.badscience.net/2009/04/parmageddon/). (By which I mean it's written by someone who has a clue.)

This is possibly the most boring thing I’ve ever written in the Guardian, but I have been genuinely weirded out by the number of people inviting me to be a naysayer on the aporkalypse. I’m not, it’s a genuine risk. I ought to add that most of the people who rang, when I explained my position, invited me on anyway, but I’m a bit busy with other stuff, and more importantly (a) I’m not an infectious diseases epidemiologist, and (b) the world doesn’t need another arbitrary pundit to say “it’s a bit of a risk, yes”.
