Now that the season is reaching its climax who do you think were the best performers of the season so far?

oscar
22/04/2009, 7:27 PM
well for Janesboro i'd say the 2 Clarke's and Darren Glasheen

johnny corbett has to make it,the most underated player in town, has played in every position across the back and on both wings this season and has,nt had 1 bad game

Agree he is a very good player. The only bad thing for him is that he can play anywhere, which means he hasnt played the same position each week and its harder for him to hold down a position of his own where he is first choice week in week out.

Interesting stuff Oscar and you know the more i was surprised by people mentioning Glasheen the more i think it makes sense, without doubt a talent and has probably come on especially in second half of year. Now i don't get to nmatches on the junior front anymore but from the games i got to i will say
1. Glasheen
2. Ahern
3. Buckley
4. Sheehan
5. Pa Mullins
6. Hartnett
7. John Boyle
8. Ciaran O Connel
9. Pat Moloney
10. Shane Clarke
11. Colm Heffernan

MGarry and Tom Clarke would get in any of the back four positions but could only put in four but certainly i'd swap those two for any of the four picked. Others on shortlist would be Jeoff Judge, Chrsity Doyle, Alan Finucane, Thomas Butler and Jim Burke from Dromore, saw im twice this year, a fine midfielder. Alot more could be mentioned but i will settle for what i have put down

You could definitely pick 2 teams easily, maybe 3 but no way would a dromore player be near any of those teams.

It would have to be Jason Purcell. He won the M.J. and second in the league, got to the final of the Touhy, still in the semi final of the Lawson. This was all in this first year.

who would ye put as manager of the season:ball:

well i'd have to say Daithi O'Donoghue. The man came out of SOH's shadow this year and has established himself as a youngish up and coming manager, people were tipping the Boro for relegation and slating Daithi at the start of the season, and being honest there was times when we doubted him and wondered was he up to the job,but we can now gladly say yes he is,he was big enough to come and ask for advice a few times when he was finding his feet and took it all on board.People may ask what has he won well i say to those people he has won respect and has won a lot of people over,Daithi my friend we salute you:ball:
