won the eredivsie title today for the first time since 1981. they were beaten yesterday but psv and ajax drew to hand them the title. alkmaar is a city of just 90,000.
their whole team have been stars this season. their striker el hamdaoui has been linked with barca recently.

Twente in second as well. Hopefully it's not a one season thing in Holland and it finally starts opening up.

The quality of the Dutch league has been sliding for some years now. This kind of season might get the league going in the right direction, in terms of Ajax, PSV and Feyenoord, the big 3, who have completely had a bad season. Not saying that AZ or Twente are bad teams, they play great football and have some good players, but the top teams have to return to their best very soon or the league will eventually get even worser.
