Ramblers should have got at least a draw out of this game. They were unfortunate to go 2-0 down after around 25 minutes of the second half but showed great fighting spirit to score and then if they had better finishing upfront could have scored a couple of more.

The team is improving all the time and I think with the addition of a few experienced heads these lads would come on and be a very good team.

Hilly has them working well as a unit and they chase down every ball it is only a matter of time before they get a win under there belt and then kick on up the table.

Well done lads!!

Come on the rams!!

All well and said but a win is gonna have to come soo. Far as I know its the top three that will qualify this year and with two games already gone we're six points off any one of those places.

1. Cork City II 3 7
2. St. Pats II 3 6
3. Bohemians II 2 6
4. Sp. Fingal II 3 6
5. Shamrock Rvrs II 2 3
6. FC Carlow 1 1
7. Cobh Ramblers 2 0
8. Tralee 2 0
9. Bray II 2 0

We got one point from our first three games, now we're within a win of going top. I wouldn't worry for Cobh at all.

If we reach the playoffs it would be a huge acheivment given the young team we have i hope we do but really thinks this year is about building a team from nothing and pushing on to win next year.

People talk a lot about supporting the team etc on here but there was very few cobh supporters at either of the last 2 games to give a bit of encouragement.

It seems all the great supporters have vanished!!

There was 200 at the last home game and that's not bad considering its A League. What's a great supporter? Actually, what do you consider to be a great supporter?

Luka I dont want to get in to a debate about my definition of a supporter great or otherwise.
It would be good to see a few people travel to support the young team that we have now who are giving there all for the rams.

It would but its unlikely I'd say. Shur the first team were lucky to get some to away games last year. Maybe people just can't afford it anymore.

...or maybe all the bitching and in fighting has taken it's toll on people too.

I think you are right. I was down for the match v Bohemians and I got the feeling that the the supporters present felt the Ramblers club was beyond saving.

I hope not, but it will take some doing to get things going again.

In a thread earlier this year I thought I read that when Mervue won the playoffs the league did not allow for 2nd teams to get promoted.
As , from the table posted by Luka, there only appears to be 3 "first" teams in the league then won't the playoffs be a forgone conclusion ?

I am sure I am missing something ..............

I travelled to the majority of away games last season, and I hope to travel to a few of the away games too this season, but due to the hours I work and the boss being a bit of a pr!ck lately I don't think I'll get to as many as I would like too.

Cheers

Is it then the top 2 (non 2nd teams) from each group which go into the playoff or the top 1 from each group and the bottom 2 from the 1st Division ?

I understand that its the best-placed non-reserve team from either group that qualifies, assuming that they also finish in the top 4 of their group. If two non-reserve teams finish in the same position in each group, the team with the best record (i.e. most points or otherwise on goal diff) goes through to the promotion/relegation play-off.

Though i stand to be corrected...

Allow me. :)

Actually you're almost completely right but I'm almost sure that they tweaked it this season so you have to finish in the top three of your pool.
