I love this game now actually. I have never really looked at performances of other teams so closely before. Really good fun, more than i thought it would be.
Would it be an idea to add in the first div next time round, so you pick two teams to win each week? And if you get knocked out of one you stay in the other, just a way of improving it for the punter

It shows the potential of Fantasy Football. Really hope RTE & the FAI are able to organise a good one as I know I would have little interest in English football without that competition.

Didn't do it myself, but waiting in anticipation for the next one to start so I can rectify that mistake, seems a lot of fun.

I thought it'd be fun too until the mighty Bray Wanderers ruined it all in the first week..

And once again the most popular team loses.
Soon teams will be fearing the label of 'Last Man Standing favourite' :D
Only 5 people left now after 3 rounds, so series 2 could be starting up soon enough.
Bohs is the obvious pick next week & a few people still have that option. It would be good if competition lasted until the mid season break.

Yeah, i picked Dundalk last week with the intention of picking Bohs this week, oh well :o
Bray Wanderers v Cork City
Bohemians v Drogheda United
Dundalk v St. Patricks Ath
Derry City v Shamrock Rovers
Sligo Rovers v Galway United
Votes for round 4 are in.
Bohemians are once again favourite with 3 votes(lets hope the curse continues)
City and Derry each have a vote each.
As the competition is coming to an end soon, I'd appreciate if people would send feedback or suggestions to lastmanstanding@forastrust.ie as we'd like to start Series 2 soon after this one ends.
I'd be particularly interested to now if there's anything that would make those who didn't sign up the last time, sign up this time.
Thanks

Bohemians 1:0 Drogheda United
Bray Wanderers 0:2 Cork City
Derry City 0:0 Shamrock Rovers
Dundalk 0:1 St. Patricks
Derry City drawing tonight knocks someone out so down to 4 now.

Just bumping this thread so it doesn't get lost.
I'll be signing up next time alright, I like the fact the weeks scores are all online so you can see how you're doing and how many you're up against.

We were 1 minute away from a winner on Friday before Bohs pulled one back. People running out of the 'certain' teams to pick now, should be interesting.

Was it a success financially for yourselves, if you don't mind me asking?

the prize money was split 50-50 between the winner and FORAS
so FORAS made 680 euro off the back of this.
Was it a success financially for yourselves, if you don't mind me asking?
As mentioned below it was 50-50.
We made 680 (-paypal costs). Decent return especially if we can get it up and running as a regular thing. Everything helps at the moment.

FORAS Last Man Standing Series 2
With Series 1 being such a big success, Series 2 of the FORAS Last Man Standing competiton starts on the weekend of the 19th June.
Help us to expand the competition, and prize fund, by signing up friends family and colleagues.
The rules for the competition are as follows:
1) Each week you must pick 1 team to win.
2) You may only pick each team once in a series(so if you pick Cork City in week one then you cannot pick them again for the next 9 weeks.
3) If your team wins you move on to round 2, if your team loses or draws you are knocked out.
4) There are 10 rounds in each series.
5) The winner is the 'last man standing' or anyone left after series 10.
6) The winner/winners receive 50% of the pool of money with the other 50% going to FORAS.
7) On the Monday before each game you will receive an email informing you if you have moved on to the next round. Simply respond to this email with your choice for that week by the Thursday of the week.
8) You can check the progress online at www.forastrust.ie.
9) It costs 10 euro to enter, the more entrants the bigger the prize fund.
Entry fees can be paid to forastrust@gmail.com via PayPal or handed to any BoM member between now and Monday June 15th.
Please remember if you are not entering via PayPal we will need an email address to send you the fixtures every week.
Your weekly choices, or any other queries, can be emailed to lastmanstanding@forastrust.ie .
Please note that this email address is NOT for PayPal payments.

There was a slight problem decoding some of the handwriting and so emails may have been sent to the wrong addresses in a couple of cases.
My apologies.
If you could pm me or email at lastmanstanding@forastrust.ie with your email and your choice for this week Il sort that out asap.
Sorry again.
Choices for Round 1 are in.
There will be 77 very disappointed people if Derry fail to beat Bray. Can Derry stand the pressure of being Last Man Standing favourites? Few teams can.
25 loyal fans trust City to beat Dundalk tonight.
17 people are relying on Bohs.
Shamrock Rovers follow with 9 choosing them, and St Pats and Galway got one vote each.
After a few last minute entries the number entered stands at 143, meaning a prize of 715euro.
Good Luck!

Nightmare for them. Saw the the last 3 mins (+ the 7 added on) and the highlights after the Derry game. Some goalkeeping display there....

Who did the other 13 go for?
94 are through to next week so far (with Derry and Bohs both picking up victories!), 27 are gone (City, Galway and Pats all losing) while 9 are to be decided tomorrow night.

We're going to cost a lot of people this over the next few weeks....you never know what City team will turn up:(

We don't have a goalkeeper well we do but he stays on the bench but that clown in goal you hardly call him a keeper.
Week 2 picks need to be in Thursday 2nd July (tomorrow).

Choices are in for Round 2:
This weeks favourites, for the second week running, are Bohemians with 60 people voting for them.
7 different teams were chosen this week, guaranteeing some people will be eliminated.
For more detail look at www.forastrust.ie
Wins for the favourites, Bohs, Cork City and Shamrock Rovers send 78 people through to Round 3 of Last Man Standing Series 2, double the amount that made it that far in Series 1.
A loss for Derry and a draw between Sligo and Drogheda means almost 30 people were knocked out.
A tough week lies ahead, with the amount of teams available to choose shrinking and the matches being close.
Good Luck.
57 people heading into Round 4.
Emails being sent out in the next few minutes. If you don't get it tonight, please let me know asap.
Bit of a cull tonight with the majority picking Drogheda.
Only 13 people left.
Tomorrows game will see at least 1 more gone, and possibly 7.
