Is this digital/analog converter something somebody would use between computer and amp Digital to Analog converter (http://www.audioadvisor.com/prodinfo.asp?number=CADACMAGI)
when listening to music stored on the hard drive?
My fine cd player has recently KTB, rip.
But most of my music is also stored on hard drive in lossless format.
I have an ext. Focusrite saffire firewire card which connects via coax to a Harman K avr 5550 amp.
.
I thought féck it, maybe feeding the music straight from hard drive to sound card via coax cable to AMP is the final solution.
Soundcard has
SPDIF out (24-bit, 192kHz)
On the HK amp
"192 kHz/ 24 Bit D/A-converters are used. The used AKM D/A-converters have discretely been built up and dispose of an extremely low basic noise"*
Q.
1. Would I really hear/see a benefit with the Cambridge digital to analog converter or does my amp already do most of the converting
2. For music listening would it be better (how much) to have 2 rca (red/white) from Sound card's rca output to AMP
than using spdif from soundcard to amp. and selecting the amp to play analog stereo.
I already have a good quality 10m spdif cable from Soundcard to Amp.
Thanks
