Ryan ban reduced on appeal
The lengthy suspension of Barry Ryan – imposed last month because of a positive drug test taken from the Shamrock Rovers goalkeeper – has been reduced by six months, leaving him available for most of next season.
Ryan was hit with a 15-month suspension after traces of a banned substance, said to be a recreational rather than performance-enhancing drug, were found in a sample given by Ryan in a random test conducted in September.
