View Full Version : Derry City away
I think the general view seems to be that we'll be lucky to take a point from this. Would be delighted with that to be honest. Hopefully we'll have a decent travelling support. No excuses this weekend for a trip up the road! Any thoughts on the starting eleven? Is Ventre out through suspension?

Hopefully Morrison will put on a good performance to show his old employers what they are missing!!

It'll take a herculean effort for us to get a point from this. We can't afford any slip-ups at the back or Derry will be in. Unfortunately, our defence is still a bit shoddy, but we were only punished once against Bray.
I'd be delighted with a score draw.

A lot more optimism in here than in the betting thread anyway:o

This one lies in favour of Derry, but if we push on from teusdays win and push forward the way we did in the second half, we could get atleast 1 goal out of it and if we also play the way we did against them last season we should get something out of it.

Ya, I'd be delighted to take a point out of this game aswell, always a tough place to go to especially with Almeida still out and the defence looking a bit shaky. Can see us conceding so I'll be optimistic and go for a 1-1 draw!

The one thing we can do again is to let the Rovers players we are there and in full support for them for the 90 minutes. Come on the Reds.

No pressure on us for this game, should be able to put in a performance after the win v Bray and hopefully we will have a decent number cheering the boys on.

Not sure about everyone else, but i am, although he could work a little harder. One on one with a defender he is unbelievable. Hope we see the best of him tonight!

He's been one of our better players. Started creating chances for himself and other players against Bray, IMO hes getting better with every game, have to give him time to adjust to the team fully after being out of competitive football for about 6 months. I was expecting him to be a brilliant free kick and penalty taker but hes created nothing special yet. He had a shocking penalty miss against Dundalk. But looking at highlights last season its obvious he has the talent in him to score goals from outside the box.

I don't think you get hard work from flair players like him. I was a big fan of the lad myself now and I'm disappointed he's gone.
Tonight we will probably play Ger O'Brien and McGlynn down our right side and I believe that will be more than enough to stop him. Ger is an excellent right back and McGlynn's work ethic and tracking back should give him enough support.

Easily your worst player, the only heartbeat's been skipped with be down by you like when Tommy Stewart is taking a hand out of that donkey!!
You would be better of playing Chris and his broken leg at left back!

ah he did well against Dundalk, hes just too used to hoofing the ball under Hegarty, not used to the way we play either.

:DToo true. Ano he'll be alright but i can't see him staying after this season. He does a job but his positional sense is terrible. Not a player i would want in my team, but thats up to Cook.
On the game, after thinking of it for a while, i think we have a great chance. 2-1 to Rovers im guessing.
