Beasley hit with op blow
Drogheda United’s English midfielder Darren Beesley has been told he must undergo surgery to remedy the troublesome back injury that made him unavailable for the final stages of the Drogs’ Premier Division campaign.
Beasley had reputedly been a transfer target of several of the league’s big guns, including Cork City and St Patrick’s Athletic, following a string of impressive performances for the Boynesiders after joining them in the close-season.
He missed the final eleven games of the season with the injury as Drogheda secured enough points to avoid the final weekend relegation scrap.
