Didn't the idea of a Teak Man (as opposed to a Wicker Man) come up on here before?. We'd have to look for someone pure to sacrifice in it. Not too many of them at Town games.

Can Alan Gough light the Teak man? If Marty is to be sacrificed then we will need to have a special dance ready. Also instead of Marty been burned alive in a Teak man what about a Teak Monkey? Worst comes to the worst sure we can have a Wicker Monkey.
By the way is anyone from Athlone making their way to Longford by Bus? If so could we get some snaps of us all beside the bus?
If theres one thing I like its a good Bus.
Bus.

I believe there are several buses making the trip over so you may have your choice!
In the mean time, here's something to whet your appetite Buses (http://images.google.ie/images?hl=en&q=bus&btnG=Search+Images&gbv=2&aq=f&oq=)

From what I hear we could double the the crowd we brought to Mervue the first night.

Would be great for it to happen as it is quite a few seasons since we had such travelling support for games.

Could there be the possibility we will out number the home support?

RonnieB
08/04/2009, 12:04 PM
A very good possibility. I hope ye bring hundreds, the money is always welcome :)

Longfordian

We'll certainly take your cash regardless of whether ye outnumber us or not. Though I think we might get a few out that don't go regularly with it being Easter there should be a lot of people home for the weekend.

Im booking a bus:D for the game on Tuesday for the slightly madder (Section O) members among us. It would be good if a few 'older' Section O 'people' could go on this bus along with a mix of youth.

PM me! And Salmon Coloured, I'll bring the camera;)

For Salmon Coloured, this is now my favourite bus. The London 'bendy bus', commonly known as the 'freebie bus' due to people (not myself of course) jumping on and off without paying for the journey on their Oyster cards.

It will be interesting how Knocpka will play tommorrow night.Thats a very good move to get him to live in Longford thats what should have bein done when Alan Matthews was in charge of us. We will reserve judgement for tomorrow night. I sincerely hope there will be no sniff of trouble at it unlike last year.:(

Longfordian
10/04/2009, 4:33 PM
Yeah, it was harder to do so then when we were training in Dublin but Alan Gough seems to want strong local links for the senior team which is no harm.

RonnieB
10/04/2009, 4:34 PM
That wasnt trouble, that was children standing 40 yards apart shouting rubbish at each other with neither side willing to breach the 40yard no mans zone :D

As it's Good Friday and I'm bored I was googling our new netminder and it seems he went to the same college in Providence, Rhode Island as Messrs Wexler and Lynch did before they signed for us. He's 6' 5" and 210 pounds apparently so he should be commanding in the air. Oh and his parents are Walt and Debbie Konopka. Both lovely people. Presumably.

sorbothegreek
10/04/2009, 6:04 PM
Don't think he'll be playing tomorrow night, he needs transferring of his work permit from Bohs to us and what with today been a day off for all administration personnel...

Longfordian
10/04/2009, 6:44 PM
Oh well, I wouldn't have any worries about Alan Gough in goals anyhow even though he doesn't want to be playing.

Not a chance ... and true to my word, after we left Athlone we realised that we had no blu-tac ...
there'll be a shop in Ballymahon was a suggestion but I made sure we stopped in Glasson to pick it up there. :D

Was great top see 2 of our younger fans follow suit too and arrive to the match with bags of sweets
bought in Athlone :D

We could not create any decent chances. Oncve we got to the 18 yard box it all broke down. Was a nice spring evening for the match though :)

I am feeling awful demoralised after saturday night. Athlone seem to be more hungrier than our boys.I am afraid to say it but this is Athlones best chance to finish ahead of us in a long long time.We had only one chance in the first half but only for des hope clearing off the line from a jim sheridan shot it might have have crept over the line. :(

Oh well hope it will be a different story for tomorrow night. I assume alan gough will be in goal again. The sooner Knopka comes in the better as Alan is much suited to being on the sidelines.
