Setanta Ireland has announced that the channel will show three League of Ireland games in the first fortnight in May.

First up, champions Bohemians will face Dundalk on Friday, 1 May at Dalymount Park, with the game kicking off at 7.45pm.

The week after, St Patrick’s Athletic will face Cork City at Richmond Park on Saturday 8th May, with a 7.30 kick off.

Then, Setanta Ireland will show the first meeting of the two big Dublin clubs in the new stadium in Tallaght, as Shamrock Rovers take on Bohemians on Saturday, 16 May, again with a 7.30 kick off.

That will save paying €20 in. Thanks Setanta :D

Yeah bigtime, no way am i going to this match and paying more than other clubs have to pay. Fans from the "Category A" clubs should boycott Dalymount and see how long the new pricing scheme lasts for.

I think you're categorized as an "A Fixture" as Bohs feared Maxi's wrath.

i think you'll find that there was so many of us already in the Jodi in block A that is made sense to move the rest over to us

plus i think rte complaining about the singing to roddy and rico under the commentary box had a bit of an influence also :)

Nope, only if they get Roddy Collins to cry like we did....

Fair play to your board though. In their brilliance they managed to lose 5euro from everyone over there....

The catagories are determined by things such as number of away crowd, potential of trouble etc. Not your league position.

I'd say most clubs have catagories for each fixture...most don't determine the price of their tickets by it though.

yes, i realise that. I would guess the only reason Dundalk is an 'A' game is because of a certain Belfast man and his loyal followers??...

WOW, another heap of televised Bohs games.

I could understand how we received little coverage last season, given our league position, but if we stay where we are i'd expect a few more games to be shown.

Every game seems to contain at least one Dublin team. Wonder will TG4 be screening a few games this year!?.

Setanta obviously know that the vast majority of their subscribers, or people with access to their channels, are in Dublin

Unlike RTE, they've no obligations to anybody and will show whatever they feel will get the best viewing numbers

They won't come to the showgrounds because we don't have a Burdocks , its one of the clauses in Pat Dolans contract that there must be a Burdocks in close proximity to the match they are covering.

Setanta wouldn't know one club from the other. I believe we again see the slight hand here from the FAI. 10 games shown, Bohs shown 6 times, and 7 of the 10 games are from Dublin, yet only 3 of the clubs are from Dublin. That is shocking. So much for spreading the game.

Sligo have been on tv 3 times this season. We've been on less.

Other clubs have to have a go.

"We've been on less"

Eh so? Have Shamrock some right to be on more than everyone else or why did you single just them out?

With 40% of games in the PD schedule in Dublin every weekend, (not including Bray) chances are Dublin games will be the live game often.

And been honest, this is a "lets get more Sligo home games on" whinge under the cover of "wanting more games outside Dublin".

Games should be judged on quality of the players on show, how well the teams involved are doing and how significant it is. Setanta, as a private broadcaster, won't be showing anything bottom of the table clashes... why would they?! No one wants to watch it. All their games will involve at least one team up near the top.
