Why is this match on Saturday at 5pm? Seems ridiculous trying to compete v Liverpool match on telly at the same time and Munster match about an hour after kick off. This is not the way of drawing new fans? Why not stick with Friday evening?

So fans can head to the Markets Field straight after and take part in the "Buster" gamble to win 1000euros.

Good that they can do that but its a pity the race night is clashing with the Munster vs Leinster match. Makes for a nice day of sport for me though :D
Handy for travelling Monaghan fans too.

I agree Scully to get his first win as boss, the first of many hopefully
I'm looking forward to this game, hopefully we'll play some nice attacking football, although the pitch is not exactly suited to that type of football but we live in hope

Not to mention a home and away agreement which both clubs have this year (so im told) basically a long trip is so much easyer for players and staff if played on a Saturday. Majority wont have go get off work early and so on. Finn Harps games may also be the same this year.

I'm going with a 2-1 home win. Monaghan have had some poor results and after losing to Mervue they'll have something to prove. This is the sort of "should win" game we've struggled with in the past but I'm optimistic this time :)

I'm going to be optimistic and predict we will win 17-0.
Unfortunately, I am working until 6.30 Saturday, so won't be present to witness the goal fest.

I managed to get off work early, and decided to head in to the match, and dragged along 3 friends also. My word what a thrilling encounter...
:D
Best parts of the match were:
a) Seeing that the ball boy in front of the shed was taller than the Monaghan number 3.
b) The shed doing a running commentary on the progress of a young lad and his new girlfriend down the front by the floodlight pole. Any of you lads from that group on here? For what it's worth - I was standing just in front wearing a Limerick FC scarf, with 3 freezing cold pansies who were drinking away at soup after halftime  :D

Awful game in fairness, i know we always say that when we play Monaghan but this was the worst iv seen, fitness levels in some of the players are not good enough at the moment and 1 or 2 are just not good enough.
Missed 2 sitters aswell but hardly deserved to win.
Only good points were some of our regulars coming back into the team, the weather, and an enjoyable night at the dogs! :)

Agree with all that. A dire game, never more than 3 passes strung together all evening. Monaghan's 2 tall forwards did a decent job of getting their team possession in the middle of the pitch. We had a great chance to snatch it at the end, but it would probably have been undeserved.

Centre midfield is a huge problem still for us.We're not winning enough ball there and not distributing the ball when we have it well enough.Tommy still not lookin fully fit.Jason only at his best when he drifted infield and took on players.Cant see the point of hoofin the ball up front when our strikers(Wayne?) are so small! Hopefully as the fitness returns and some of the players get it together we will move up the table.
Good to see Pat Scully talkin to the players all through the match.Complete opposite to Silent Mike!

Agreed, their centre halves had an easy night of it
When I saw Scully with the clipboard I immediately knew he's the business

Castletroy Blue! Yea, I was one of them! :D
The lad with tha green Columbia jacket in the middle!
Poor young fella got no action..
Oh, and by the way, would you be interested in going to Wexford with us on Friday?
We have a bus with about 23 names, need 25 to run it, so if you're going, fairly guarantees us going..
No pressure...

Would defo head down, but i'm stuck working on Friday night this week. If I can get it off, i'll let you know asap, but i'd say it's fairly doubtful :(
Will be at the next home game - hopefully more innocent people to joke with down the front if things go dull in the match...who knows - maybe loves young dream will return for a further commentary from the shed faithful :D

Was Wayne up front for the whole game? In fairness, Scully hasn't had it easy with injuries and fellas just coming back from injuries but glad that he means business with that clipboard :)
LFC-Zulu, if Castletroy Blue doesn't take you up on that offer of the bus, myself and a mate might be up for taking those 2 spaces left on the bus, if i can get off work in time,
cheers - Ciarán

Didnt Wayne play up front for Shamrock Rovers when he was up there under Scully? He could end up playing there more regularly than people might think.

terrible game, poor crowd and disappointed the way scully positioned some of the team.only bonus was the clean sheet.better get used to the longer ball stuff because scully teams do tend to play that way and grind out results, our next couple of games will be vital in terms of keeping in touch with the top 3.
