Anyone see the UTV sports news last night? About two minutes' highlights of Harps v. Derry, including panned shots of the crowd and comments on how good the atmosphere was and interviews with both managers. Just shows how far the Irish stations are off the pace!:o

I think you'll all find that UTV - Ulster Television - is in Ireland, thus making it an Irish TV Station.

Other Irish stations - sorry! Although the BBC (NI admittedly) had a decent preview of the second leg on their Sports roundup today.

It was far better than anything TV3 have done - the same length highlights as an average game on eL weekly, without showing three replays from the same camera and with competent cameramen. And as a spot on the news, as opposed to a highlights package.

Maybe TV3 show the odd highlight (don't often watch their Friday news for obvious reasons), but there's also RTÉ as well.

Freudian slip (?) - if your original phrase had been "other stations" you might have some comback, but as it was its an indication that some southerners are happy with their little state and don't want bothersome northerners messing it up for them!

---------------

Whatever about UTV and BBCNI doing Derry City, they normally show good highlights of the Irish League - at civilised times of the day (e.g. 5.30pm on a Saturday). Watch the BBC Newsline sports round up just after 6.40 tonight and you'll see.

Without wishing to get involved in UTV's merits ort otherwise, was there a decent crowd at the game?
