Last night brothers Evan McMillan and David McMillan both started for UCD against Finn Harps. When was the last time that two brothers took the field for the same team?

Wexford have had at least two different sets of brothers play since we started in 2007 Gareth and Conor Wallace (no relation to Mick) 2008-present
Cant remember the other off top of my head

Sad to say I'm not 100%, but I'm fairly sure Wayne and Thomas Fitzgerald are brothers, they'd have played together for us about 2003 kind of time maybe? As ever, Dick Long will know! :)
Wexford are easily the winners of this one alright, I seem to remember there were three sets in their early squads. The Wallaces as mentioned, the Russells are two more brothers that I think are still there (not sure about Jason the keeper mind), and wasn't there Rossiter siblings also?

Not as recent as some of the examples above but I'm sure John and Robbie Martin started together for UCD a good few times.

Fiachra and Cormac McArdle, I think, were both at Dundalk in 2006.

Edit: It may have been Kevin and Cormac in 2007 -- did Kevin, Cormac and Fiachra ever play on the same team!?

Pretty sure Damien and Shane Bradley would have played together in Harps team around the 98/99 season.

Better memory than me could not remember the names Jason not involved any more.

Slightly off topic:
Galway United had a teacher and student playing together. Mark Herrick is a History teacher in St Jospeph's (The Bish) and a Leaving Cert student of his played in the same team for a few months. I think his name was Sean Murphy; his career was shortened by a motor accident.

Brothers Niall and Norman Costello both played in goal for United (obviously not at the same time). They are not related to Roscommon native Harry. To the best of my knowledge, he remains the only Roscomon man to play for the club.

Tony and Tommy Murphy played together for Galway Rovers.

I know Harry is no relation of Slob and Stormin' but I'm fairly sure he had a brother who was playing around the same time as him:confused:

Same thing happening at Kildare County this season, Karl Hegarty is a teacher in the PBS in Newbridge who plays centre back and just by his side was his 5th year student Matty Byrne! Hegarty is also Mattys schools football team manager!

Could possibly happen here this season too. Damien Rushe is a teacher in town, might have some of your youths in his class, not sure.

We've had plenty of cousins/cousins and uncle/nephew brother/brother combinations down the years through the whole O'Connor/Jackson/Frawley/Fortune dynasty.

Since 1990, the following brothers have played together on the same team for Harps:

Trevor & Conor Gethins (in a League Cup game)
Brian & Karl Lafferty
Damien & Shane Bradley

I'm pretty sure there are at least two or three other sets of brothers who have played together for Harps in the 1970's and 80's.

Not anymore, been working in Rochfordbridge since coming home from Oz.

Although on a similar note, Youths manager is a teacher so I presume some of the players are in his class.

In the Early eighties Three of the O'Connell brothers played a league match for Sligo Rovers.

Sligo Rovers also had the two Kennedys Robbie and Noel, two Gilligans John and Gus, tow McGee's Ski and Vinny and Four Rooneys Aidan, Michael (may only have played a friendly), Ray and Kieran.
