Anybody else here who can't stand the sight of Reeves and Mortimer.Vic in particular in uniquely unlikable.

At the time David Brent made me laugh more than most but due to lack of anything new at the time it perhaps got over acclaimed.

The lads in the bar in Cheers were nearly always well portrayed.

Father Stack: What are we watching?
Other Priest: We're watching the sports day.
Father Stack: Lots of young men running around in shorts? That's the kind of thing you'd be lookin at.And I bet you like that too. You're sittin there imagining what they look like without shorts on. You're sitting there, imagining that, with a big smile on your face; you dirty fecker!
Other Priest: Well, I think you're a very rude man!
Father Stack: If you ever say that again, I'll put your head through the wall.!

The last xmas special wiped him off the list for me. Jesus that was terrible

Good shout on Bilko jebus. Vastly underrated

On US sitcoms; Another vote for Georgie but if I had to pick one I'd go with GOB in Arested Development. Could pick any of that family though

On Uk sitcoms; Basil Fawlty is just about perfect.

That's right, Matt Berry is the actor.
This character is Chris Morris' prodigal son in the hugely under-rated IT Crowd, the new head of Reynholm Industries, at least until he squanders it all on sexual harrassment suits, dollybird accountants and gold leaf in the water fountains! :D

that and the fact they both like to drink, both have wives they could and should treat better, both have kids that are dysfunctional to say the least, and both offer great insights into life -

you do know that the Simpson's isnt just a cartoon for kids!

you asked whats the difference between homer and rab. I answered with the differences. All the above similarities in both you listed above also appply to them and millions of other people.

And not sure what your getting at with that 2nd remark. All I said was simpsons is a cartoon and rab c isn't. Is this true or not?

Good shouts mostly imo, not a big fan of Rab C but can understand why people like him and wouldn't be a massive fan of Red Dwarf. Have to say though, how can people find Little Britain that funny? It's alright the first time you see the joke, the second time it's wearing thin, and when they do they same joke twice an episode for the rest of the series the humour is like the four headed, man-eating haddock fish beast of Aberdeen.* Not saying it's not funny in places but if you seriously think the show is one of the greatest comedies ever made, you must have the attention span of a goldfish. ;)
