Your argument seems to be the equivalent of saying Mervue could actually win this league by 30 points because we don't know enough about their players. I'm not saying that Limerick have absolutely no chance but they don't have proven quality while Shels, Fingal and Waterford all do, and UCD are already looking impressive, Limerick so far are not.

While your argument seems to be: "I don't know anything about Limerick but I can write them off because they are nearly always crap shur."
I'm not saying that Limerick have absolutely no chance but they don't have proven quality while Shels, Fingal and Waterford all do,
Ryan
Purcell
Danaher
Colbert
Hughes
Walshe
Tierney
Barrett
All proven quality at this level.
and UCD are already looking impressive,
Saw nothing to be overly impressed by when they played us. But point taken, given the "quality" of the division they should be there or there abouts.
Limerick so far are not
Didn't you hear. We had one of our famous annual pre season circuses down here. See my post about us being gash and getting better.

No my argument is that I saw Limerick 6 times last season, they looked impressive once. Its a largely similar first team with a few additions this time around amirite

Your opinion of the 6 times you saw them last season aint much of a basis for the whole world to write them off though........
IMO. :)

There's a tranfers thread somewhere............
A first team that has been one of the best in the first division since it got together.

Funny that, I just looked at the transfers thread and compared it with the starting lineup for the games this season, and dya know what? My point stands.
Whos Scully's assistant going to be?Is Ski McGee still there or am i behind the times?

I never said you didn't have a point about the team being similar....
You'll also notice the players missing from starting lineups and realise how depleted we have been then?? You can compare them to last years strongest eleven if you like seeing as you have so much free time. :)

Definitely wont be Ski McGee. Who was last at Cork if memory serves??
Apparently Dave Campbell was at training with him last night so read into that what you may.

I'll have a good look tomorrow night. Having said that, even that team that were signed in July last year, I don't think they'd be in with much of a fight for promotion. Fingal and Shels both have signed sides that would compete in midtable in the Premier, and its almost certainly gonna be one of those who wins the league, probably the other one going forward to face a Premier team in the playoff.

You would hear no argument from me about Shels and Fingal being top two by a stretch. I don't think Shels are quite as good as they seem to think they are min but they have a strength in depth but puts them up there.
I just saw no reason why we shouldn't be included with Waterford and UCD in the group chasing for the third play off spot was all.
For the record I would divide the division up as follows:
Fingal
Shels
UCD
Waterford
Limerick
Monaghan

Not based on Fingal's performance against us.

Good manager and a good appointment . . . but if ever there was a fight waiting to happen, this is it I fear. Anyway, good luck to Limerick, hope ye are up challenging at the top this year

Playoffs.......
Also, have no idea where you get the notion UCD, Waherfurr and indeed Shels for that matter are far stronger than Limerick either.
Me personally, I'd settle for a competive 4th place. But anyone writing us completely out of the playoff picture
sit on the fence there LTID....A COMPETITIVE 4th or 5th,whats all that about.we have finished there for the last 2 seasons and you settle for that again.we are supposed to have a talented squad sprinkled with experience... .... and now have a top notch boss,it has to be at least the playoffs...no excuses

Well I'd imagine you're going to have to find some excuses. Limerick won't get playoffs, 4 points from 12, and you're already 8 points off 2 of the big guns, and you will not finish ahead of Fingal.

Would love to see Limerick in the playoff this season but dont think it will happen, Limerick will not finish above Fingal but neither will Shels.

Neither will Shels from what I saw on Friday night. I may have to revise my earlier prediction and put UCD finishing ahead of you too as they just seem more organised

Like that, I havent seen Fingal yet but from what I have seen of UCD and Shels, Shelbourne could learn from the college boys. Whether the young and relatively inexperienced UCD side can maintain that level of creativity and organised control for the rest of the season or not remains to be seen.

Ah, why'd have to go and raise my expectations like that? I'd been convincing myself that Shels were of a much higher standard to temper my ambitions.;)

We haven't been playing great but the fact that we have maximum points even while playing below par can only be a good sign.
Limerick didn't seem up to much for most of the match but that'd be expected under a brand new manager. But they gave us a fair few scares towards the end of the match and we were lucky to hold on.

Not saying you were bad or anything but just in comparision to UCD you were not as good. That is all.

Performances count for nothing in this league. 12 points from 12 says it all really.

True. Just saying from what I saw that UCD looked the stronger of the 2 sides.
