Robinson is a right sided player, isn't he? That's a position that we've been weak in for years. IMO, one needs to be a natural to play on the wing. He would be a very good signing.

If this is true, things really do seem to be heading in the right direction. There's one more thing we'd need though - a midfielder.
I suspect we might see Georgino play there next season.

would be a very good signing IMO. what does that mean for doyler though? is he gonna be stuck on the bench now with Fenn arriving as well?

I think Doyler would be strong enough to fight it out tbh. Any further news on Robinson tho?

Robinson is a good player and would be a handy purchase but I'd be concentrating on getting two top central midfielders first.

my point is that robinson plays on the right side of midfield, so where does that leave doyler! Can't play both of them there

Why not? I tried it in championship manager once and it works! Had two left midfielders and no right midfielders. Scored loads of goals :D

Doyle has doen very well on the right this season, but let's be honest, whether he or Robinson (should a deal go through) starts on the right the competition can only be good for the club.

Surprised yiz didn't move in for Crawford, Stewey Byrne or Morgan of Shels all 3 are out of contract.

i think it comes down to geographical notion as he i think is from waterford and it would be easier to approach him as he wouldnt be far from home cos its harder to get dublin players to come out of dublin cos they will obviously hold out for other local team of which there are plenty

any one of them would be a decent siging IMO. But as was said, getting players to leave the Pale isn't easy.

According to eleven-a-side.com (full story here (http://www.eleven-a-side.com/premier/story.asp?newsid=9043) )Rovers are holding off all offers until de weekend in de hope that Noel Hunt plays for Dunfermline because they'll get £20,000 for his 20th appearence.

Rovers are holding out until after weekend. Their hopes are resting on Noel Hunt making an appearance for Dunfermline - his 20th, which would earn Rovers £20,000stg

Until then, all offers are off.

It is good to hear that clubs are in this position now.
Hope it does happen and an eL club wont have to make sacrifices to get out of trouble.

Well, Hunt came on for Dunfermline in de 75th minute as they beat Hibs 2-1 so that should do it. Rovers financial worries have eased a little (depending on when Dunfermline pays up of course)

They'll prob pay 20 quid a week for the next 3 and a half years.;) :D

all joking aside it could well be something like that, no guarentee that rovers would get it in a lump sum, although you would have hoped they would have negotiated it that way.

i don't know how long 20,000stg will keep them going though.

not long if Bogota Barry and Trev E Molloy got their hands on it...

He'd be a good player for City to sign and there is no guaranntee that Rovers will get their money from Scotland any time soon...

Possibly all Rovers squad are on part-time contracts so they don't have to pay wages in the close season so €30k will last a good while for them...
