He's the King of TV.
The one guy you can depend on to make you laugh, at least once during every episode of the best animated programme ever.
Sure there have been pretenders to his throne, but there is only one real King of animated sitcoms.

Homer Simpson, I salute you sir...

Would have agreed with you once upon a time but the character has been ruined by the new writers, he's lost his charm and is just a complete idiot nowadays

Plus this man came along

As far as King of Animated Sitcoms goes, Omar isn't really in the running.

King of TV? I don't think so. He's a great character from a really excellent show, but he hasn't that much name recognition among non-fans. I bet there are plenty of people wondering who he is - Omar Little, a character in The Wire, who robs from drug dealers and won over many fans whose initial reaction to him was homophobic.

I with jebus Omar is King, and John 83 the fact that he doesn't have much credit with non-fans is what makes him so good. Whilst homer is getting drunk and acting up Omar quitely takes over. Also agrre with jebus that Homer credit in last 5 years or so

Forget Omar, great character that he is, the undisputed 'KING of TV' is Tony Soprano.

Peter Griffin is brilliant but IMO the Family guy people just took the Homer Simpson charcater and made him a bit more ignorant so I would class him as a king of TV

Homer during the golden age from season 3 or 4 on to maybe 9 or 10 after the terrible early episodes that focussed on bart and before it all went tits up.

Peter griffin is also brilliant but Cartman is prob my favourite cartoon character, he has never gone off the boil from season 1 to 13 now. Much more impressive i think.

I Agree. While Peter Griffin is hilarious he would never have existed without Homer before him. Ditto Bender from Futurama (although a little less funny).

Cartman is the undisputed King for me; original and intelligent humour.
