Fingal did not play well tonight. U.C.D well deserved the win.

I'm gutted, thought we would beat Drogheda tonight, no goals scored in two games.

At least you have 2 pts on the board...........

Agree with the above comments about Fingal. We seem more like a team that will be near the bottom come end of the season and not at the top as expected pre season.:(
Playing catch up already is not good and players need to start earning their money.

1nil Waterford, goal after 20 seconds
It was actually after 32 seconds and some heroic defending before Waterford eventually breached our defences. :(
I appreciate that the weather was miserable but that has to be the worst I've seen them play. No positives whatsoever.

Good 3 points for Blues tonight. We were solid enough all night, only really scary moment was at the end when Youths missed a good chance from a header. Weather was awful in first half. Wind and rain sweeping accross the pitch ensured we were nicely soaked by half time. Had to duck into the very impressive clubhouse at half time to get some heat. Envied the gang sitting in the seats overlooking the pitch. This was like a giant executive box for free!! Bottles of Bud and all. Come on people of Wexford buy the season tickets. Mick has put his money in now its time to pay him back. We were seriously impressed with the facilities here, top class. Pitch was excellent, clubhouse and bar luxurious, car park has lots of spaces and was well stewarded, several training/ astro turf pitches and a new gym on the way.
Back to the match Willie John Kiely was impressive throughout, big improvement in confidence ( goal scored on 32 seconds)and our defence were really solid. Looking forward to Shels next week. Picked up two yellows - Kiely and Grincell.
Wexford had 1 yellow I think.

Given we had six debutantes last week, the same goes for us.

The squad Fingal have is ridiculously strong for the First Division, and full time as well. Our bunch of barely paid 18-year-olds beating them isn't a good sign. I'm sure they'll pick it up, but for now, we are top of the league.

We are so unlucky, hit the bar tonite !!!

We greatly outplayed the Drogs but coudnt finish

Hardly! We had the better first half, then you shaded the second half. We had the clearer of the chances though and joxer should have scored when clean through. Still dont know how we didnt nick it at the end either!Overall a draw was a fair result though.

Absolutely delighted we've finally ended our curse up in Kingspan. Wasn't a great match by any means but we probably just about shaded it.

But fair play all the same for a very good start ;)

Poor enough game last night in terryland, weather didnt help! Dundalk are one of the worst footballing teams I have seen in a long time. They didnt have the legs to chase over the top balls and were constantly pulling back our players as they walked past. Kelly got 2 yellows for this. I think dundalk got 7 yellows in total as well as the one red. Georgie got booked for constant mouthing !

Dundalk had (If I remember correctly) just the one shot on target, and it took an excellent save from Ryan to stop it from going in. After Kelly got sent off, GUFC tore dundalk apart and had 3 one on ones with Bennion but he made 2 good saves from the chances with O'Brien and McGrath whilst Murphy put his shot wide of the post. Sean Kelly also had a piledriver of a shot going in until bennion again got a strong hand to it. The opening came eventually when, after a couple of poor crosses and corners, jayo got one good low cross in and Breen got his head down low (around 18 inches off the ground) to sneak it past bennion.

Jay had a quiet enough game as he was well marked out of it, with usually at least 3 players around him everytime he got the ball. Dundalk will struggle badly if that is the type of football they play, nothing but hoofball (except for the odd run down the wing from rogers) that georgie/fabio/mansaram/mulvenna cant work with. Onwords and upwards for Galway United, nose bleed teritory at the moment but we are enjoying it very much. Bray next week with hopefully another 3 points against a club we have had a good record against over the past few seasons. Only problem is a few of our players limped off last night, but hopefully they will be ok for next week as we havent much cover with such a small squad.

The Fingal team will gel together as the season goes on and won't be far off the top come the end. They should have done all of that over the pre-season though, not a good sign [for Fingal :D] that they don't seem to be used to playing together yet.

Watching our game on the telly, we were pretty brutal at the back. Ventre just isn't a centre half, yet he's forced to play there anytime we have an injury or suspension.

We improved a bit as the game went on, Morrison played well and was a threat. However, it's the same old story up front. Pass the ball to death around the box, but don't actually make the keeper work.

Credit to Shamrock Rovers for their performance, although we made them look a bit better than they are, I feel. Stephen Bradley is an excellent player. If he's done his hamstring, that's a big loss for them.

Who was that right-back by the way? He looked about 15 and was absolutely awful. He was taken off as much to save him from the caning he was getting from the stands as much as it was tactical.

Signed as the long-term replacement for Seamus Coleman apparently at the beginning of last season...I have yet to see any resemblance to Coleman. Can't blame the lad last night but it was a terrible decision by Cook to play him. Keane was suspended, he'd have normally played there.

We were shocking, worst performance in over a year.

is jason promoted from the reserves sligoman??Yeah he was with the A team last season. I'd imagine he'll still play with them this season and just be back-up for the first team if stuck.

Boco can also play at right back(plays there for Benin), he would have been a better option there last night imo.

I honestly started to feel sorry for him and most Rovers fans applauded him off for that very reason. It was a tough night for the lad.

The fact he did it three times meant it was actually painful to watch, right in front of the Sligo fans too. Sligo's two full backs were poor, the left back never gave anything going forward, to be honest Sligo were very disappointing overall, for all Cretaro tries his heart out he's not a striker and with Boco beside him the ball just never stuck up front, I don't think it was any coincidence that Sligo had more territory when Parkhouse came on, he has to start for them. Boco looked Ok at right back in the last 10, although it was hard to tell as the came was fairly all over the place at that stage. Overall the pitch is excellent and should facilitate plenty of good football over the season, it's just a pity it's so exposed to the wind, although I believe the prevailing wind is actually into the back of the stand so it won't always be that bad.

Brilliant move outside the box for leading to a Cretaro shot at the end of the 1st half. 2 first time passes in midfield followed by a beautiful back heal (I think from Morrison) before the first time shot.
