Still hearing rumours that it won't be on at all, Bodytonic definitely won't be back anyway so that tents gone.

Interesting bout the Green Day rumours. Seen them a few times live and they're feckin brilliant live. Never been mad about their albums but for a big festival, they have a class back-catalog.

Although they're probably too main-stream for most of the EP trype people to admit to liking.

Would put U2 and Red Hot Chilly peppers ahead of them in that list. Was into them when I was younger but kinda tired of then now

electronic act Orbital and ska legends Madness have been confirmed as among the headliners for this summer's favourite arts-and-music festival.

Oklahoma-based psychedelic indie band Flaming Lips and Brooklyn duo MGMT were also announced today as other main acts to be served up at this year's Electric Picnic festival. The boutique festival takes place as usual at Stradbally, Co Laois, and runs over three days from 4th to 6th September.

In the first tranche of acts to be announced, 47 music acts were confirmed earlier today.

As well as the main headline acts, one of the big new names to rise to popularity in the past year, Seattle quintet Fleet Foxes will bring their "baroque harmonic pop jams" to the Stradbally estate, along with Mercury prize-winning Klaxons.

Among the Irish acts will be Choice-award winning Jape, Liberties rockabilly belle, Imelda May, Dublin's Damien Dempsey, the much-loved Lisa Hannigan and sometimes Talking Heads impersonators, Bell X1.

Mr Forde stressed, as with all Picnics, this will be much more than about just the music.

The heart of the site will be an expanded Body and Soul village with its large array of holistic treatments, reiki, yoga, massage and general "chilling out" by day, built around a natural amphitheatre area with its Chill Stage featuring DJs and alternative music into the small hours each night.

Other names announced yesterday include Mexican guitarists Rodrigo Y Gabriela, who are currently recording a new album; '70s American disco and R&B legends Chic - best known for their hits Freak Out and Everybody Dance ; Mississippi blues guitarist Seasick Steve; alt-country rockers the Alabama 3; sweet-voiced Swedish indie girl, Lykke Li; veteran Liverpudlians Echo & the Bunnymen and '80s post-punk English band, Magazine

Poor line up so I shan't be making the journey this year :(

Of the acts announced I'd go to see Erol Alkan, Benga, Lykke Li, Explosions In the Sky, 2 Many DJs, Simian Mobile Disco, Whitest Boy Alive, Jape and Orbital but save for Orbital I've seen all those acts before, some of them I've seen a few times and I'm not going to pay 250 bucks to watch Orbital

saw MGMT in Lollapalooza last year and they were absolutely awful but might be willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Make sure you catch Okkervil River aswell, they are absolutely awesome live...

Not going to go for the first time since it's been turned into an overnight festival

Honestly don't think I could even begin to justify shelling out the best part of 500 quid for 2 and a i/2 days in the mud with such a poor line up

Yeah in much the same mode myself. There is about 5 act I would like to see and a few more I would go to. But nobody worth such prices

Yeah I had a look at the times of bands and there are a grand total of ten acts I'd get along to, and I've already seen six of them live before
