Anyone here ever used this for Malaria prevention ?
I am thinking of going to the Soloman Islands (East Renell and Guadalcanal) and PNG, but Malaria is pretty endemic in both places so I'll have to take the anti malarial pills. There are reports that the Larium pills can have nasty side affects, has anyone here used them ?
Thanks.

From what I've heard the pills can have different effects, but I think Malarone is good with the only real effect being very strange, vivid dreams (though not necessarily bad).

Only just found this thread but I would recommend Malarone too. I was in Africa over the new year and took it every day with no side effects.
Larium works fine, but doctors always say you shouldn't use it if you are prone to depression.

None of them are particularly pleasant, make sure that you don't take them on an empty stomach or else you'll know all about them.

Or if you have overly regular movements :o the expression "through the eye of a needle" would be apt
