Family Guy, it used to be the biggest threat to the simpsons, now it's just 80's pop culture references and Seth McFarlane's politics

The South Park episode was spot on

2 football related ones

1. International Football before the finals tournaments

Dreary, bleak, dark, dank games played in half empty stadiums that screw up your weekly football enjoyment and generally involve rubbish games played by bad players on bad pitches between 2 bad sides

2. 3rd round of the FA Cup - annoying, messy weekend with games all over the place where MOTD never run the match you want to see

Slightly off topic - but democracy as an idea is fine but the way it is executed is corrupt.

We do not live in a democracy - we live in a cartel controlled by 2 / 3 main political blocks who control access to everything

I do completely agree, actually.

I was reading a book of late on the founding of the USA, and it had in it's intro a line about how thanks to "liberalism" and "democracy", created in that cauldron, authoritarian despots like Hitler were overthrown.

Firstly, the most of the overthrowing was actually done by authoritarian despotic Stalinst Russia - the difference was that prior to the war Russia was rather isolationist, and afterwards, they were let have a sphere of interest in thanks, consisting of a geographical area that had felt the worst of Despotic authoritarian Hitler (How does "Gee, thanks you guys" sound in Hungarian?).

Secondly, it was thanks to the agreement of two nations with a style of "Democracy" (TM) that discourages genuine free choice, and encourages the rise of two broadly similar political parties that permits pseudo-authoritarian decision making through a veneer of democracy (remember Britain on Iraq in 2003; or better again, the big march in Dublin in the same year that Bertie told us endorsed his views, before turning around and allowing Shannon to be used) that helped to turn war. The reality is that the strongest and most "democratic" (in the true representative sense) countries in 1930 were probably France, Weimar Germany and Masaryk's Czechoslovakia, each with numerous parties representing the vast spectrum of political belief. Two were unable to organise in such a way that could defeat the authoritarian despot, while the other one was ripe to be taken over by him. Hmm.

Aprés Match. Used to be funny but they just don't know enough about football to satirise it effectively. One of their sketches revolves around Des Cahill being knowledgeable about football!

Richey's lyrics. I like the Manics but I've always been a bit baffled as to why he's considered a genius. Most of his lyrics were like bad teenage poetry.

the pussycat dolls - jai ho song. i'ven't felt so guilty since i stole premier manager '94 from a birthday party when i was ten but it is such a catchy song and to use an F1 pit stop term, i'd love to bend nicole thing-a-majig over for a splash and dash but that's perhaps too much info.

Dave, the channel, same **** every day thanks to Dave but it's amazing just for endless repeats of dragon's den and top gear.

Oh oh and thanks to comedy central for endless reruns of two and a half men and scrubs. just for the boredom annoyance of being pushed to the brink of wanting smash the tv if i've to hear those opening credits again.

Oh and parents, can't live with and can't bury them
