There seem to be a lot of players still without clubs. With the new season only 2 days away will they find clubs ?

I know from Bray Ger Rowe and Gary Cronin are still without clubs, they were 2 of our most expierenced players last season.

Who else is withoutr a club ?

Stuey Byrne is probably the biggest name.

Everyone that Pats released has got a club. Mick Keane is still without a club following his sacking last year though

Thougth Stuey Byrne had a pre-contract with Bohs. Wasn't there something about him trying to get other Drogs players to join him there?

I thought i read that Keane went to Drogheda ? Obviously not...

Byrne not finding a club is a very strange one though, wonder has he been even training ?

Rowe was on the bench for Bohs against Shels. Don't like the guy TBH.

According to people on the limerick section of foot, Shane Tracey is injured so did not sign a contract with Limerick even though he was training with them.

Am not aware of Dave Tyrrell, Davy Bryne, Aaron Labonte and Stuart Malcolm finding new clubs.

Chris Breen has moved to Australia or somewhere.

Ben Whelehan was very good with us last season and hasn't signed for a new club

Dave Warren
Vinny Sullivan

Two handy players i think, just didn't have any luck with managers, Dave with Dolan, Vinny with Rico.

Aaron Shanahan still hasnt found a new club, very good goalie, same with Ben Whelehan, he was instrumental for us last year.

A few of last year's UCD guys are still clubless. The pick of the bunch is Brian King - Noel's son. Decent young midfielder, a bright point in an otherwise dour season for us last year.

You know what that means, they are all on their way to the Drogs!:D

I think Alan Mahon (possibly retired though), Brian King, Timmy Purcell and Shane Fitzgerald are the only ones from UCD's 2008 first team without a club.

Ben Spicer
Dave Warren
Vinny Sullivan
Luke Fitzpatrick

It's been suggested that Luke Fitz has emigrated, Vinny's signed for Dungarvan Utd. Ben is probably taking a break from league football. He got a job in Cork half-way through last year which almost put the kibosh on his football then, so am assuming it has finished it off now! :D

Dave Warren not being picked up is a complete mystery though, don't understand that at all.

I'v seen Mahon and FItzgerald play, think both of them are really good players.

I don't think Mindaugas Kalonas has found a club yet. Would be great to see him back in Dalymount

I think his current employment status shows how little truth there was in those 'tap-up-players' rumours.

Does it ********. It just shows how bad Bohs finances turned out. gary O'Neill spoke during the week about having a contract with an unnamed side who turned round and said they can't honour it. Doesn't take too much to guess who...

Well he wasn't relly moving for football reasons but he signed for a fairly low level semi pro team in England. Can't think of the name off hand but it was reported on www.saintsforum.net (with sources)

He's with Ramsgate now

EDIT - actually from reading Ramsgate official site he has now left them for Hemel Hempstead, managed by none other than ex Celtic / Bohs / Pats etc etc player Paul Byrne

A pub or i'd say a restaurant knowing Paul Byrne! Still have great memories of him at Dalyer though ...

agreed - easily one of the most naturally gifted footballers to grace Dalyer and the league. One of my favourite Bohs players and will never forget that goal in Bray from the halfway - inch perfect. Pity the cameras werent there to capture it.

I'd say he got through a fair few batter burgers in his day though.
