Injuries mount for Kenna's Saints

Mounting injuries worries at St. Pat's have forced manager Jeff Kenna and his assistant Paul Peschisolido to register as players for the new League of Ireland season. The Dubliner could have as few as 13 senior players available for his first competitive game as The Saints' boss against Galway United on Friday night because of various injuries and suspended.

Mark Quigley has definitely been ruled out, while Jason Gavin will undergo a fitness test on Friday morning because of an ankle concern. Jamie Harris and David Partridge are suspended, while knee problems have ruled Stephen Maher, Brendan Clarke and Bobby Ryan out. "We're looking about 13 senior players but there are a couple of young lads who have been training with us - Anthony Costigan and Stephen Fitzpatrick, so I would think they will be promoted rather than seeing me sitting on the bench!" Kenna told reporters on Tuesday afternoon.
