View Full Version : Airport strike 30th March
I booked the same flight. Im going to get either the early or afternoon flight to Bari the next day so will be staying in Milan. Not sure whether to stay in the centre or at the airport?? Anyone got any recommendations? Heard it's not the nicest city ever
Our Tuesday flight to Bari is from Malpensa airport @ 07.10, I don't know what time the afternoon flight is. Malpensa is about 50Km from the centre of Milan with a 40 minute train journey from the city.
We are staying in the Best Western Della Corona beside Malpensa on both Sunday and Monday nights particularly because of the early start on Tuesday. Have you checked if the flights are still available?
Surely you'll be entitled to a refund for that!
I am going to be in Milan from Sunday morning also on the same flight as AidoM. Whats the plan so Milan on Sunday night.
It being Sunday ...... churches, cathedrals etc :D :)

Yeh the flights on Monday are still available. The early flight is €51 and the afternoon one is €63. I'd rather an extra night in Bari so going to book one of them. Price has already went up since last night.

ICTU meeting this afternoon. Indications are that it will be called off
Strike deferred. Should be no problems now

Phew big relief. Glad I don't need to spend any extra changing flights.

A word of warning, whatever about the cancelled strike, Dublin airport was a joke on Sunday. Took best part of an hour to queue to get through the security section. Leave plenty of time if you're heading out to Italy...........

Yeah I suffered the same......it was a big queue but it moved reasonably quick.....why was it so busy?

tell me about it. I was at the security for noon and was not in the right frame of mind for queues after after rolling in at 5am. I did see a few Scottish lads who looked far worse than me though!!! :D

One rumour I heard was 'they were on a go slow' ahead of any possible strike - could be complete ****** tho. I couldnt see any reason for it tho.

Everyday is a go slow in Dublin Airport.
The only airport I have noticed where some one is employed to ensure the ropes in the passport control queues don't move or fall over.
