Well, I've got my tickets for the End of season supporters night in Slashers... and what a season to celebrate...
Improvements all over the place... I think I speak for a majority of supporters in saying that if we took 4th place this year and improved on last years 5th we would be happy campers... Well we did just that and a little better, we're FAI cup champions...
Personally speaking, I felt we lost our chance to claim silverware the night of the league cup loss to SPA, but leaving Inchicore that night I also believed that it was a blessing in disguise that it didn't happen because perhaps that would have been our season over and I didn't want that...
The players mightn't have had the unquestionable hunger they had that October weekend in Landsdowne if we had converted our superior dominance in that game, really it gave the players the belief that they could take it to the opposition and they brought that with them into a fair few games and thus the league position...
Now, I still feel agrieved that a great away form wasn't matched by at least a decent home form, if the reverse was true, we might just accept but to throw away so many points at home still annoyed me and hopefully we can recapture this next season... BUT, I think it's fair to say that LT's away form might be linked to an enthuastic away support which is vocal and unwavering in comparison to a weak and sometimes dead home support, it is up to the faithfull to raise the bar next season at home and make Flancare park a fortress where away teams bearly get out of there alive. Without question we have to address this.
Finally, a huge thank you to the Alan, Aaron, the players and the staff of LTFC for a very fine season...
