right inm trying to connect to xbox live but my pc connection keeps failing i have downloaded all the software.how do i know if the TCP and udp ports are open and what are tcp and udp ports?

thanksNot sure if it'd be the same, but I had to contact my ISP to get the ports for my PS3.

I presume you have broadband internet with the xbox and pc connected to the internet via a router?

Is so, and it's still not working, I'd re-plug everything and reboot the xbox and pc to see if that makes any difference.

Also go to media player on your pc, click on the library tab, followed by a click on media sharing, and there should be a little picture of an xbox there. Highlight the xbox icon and press allow. This shouldn't really have anything to do with connecting to live but you never know.

Do you have a password on your router silly question i know but it caught me out when i was trying to get my xbox online :o

Can you not connect directly from the router instead of using the pc?
