Finally on this rant, look outside for chair, sec and treas. Get a grip, who in their right mind would Volunteer (we can't afford to pay anyone!) to come into the club to those positions. I for one would not want someone from outside to be running my club when we have the talent and expertise in our club to do so. Hopefully this Sunday that talent and expertise will be elected in and we will have a bright future ahead.
Actually I am aware of some non members that would be more than willing to get involved in the running of the club. The reason that many have not joined is the result of the cuurent leadership's inability to run the club and also people not been made feel welcome.
I have to say that some of those seeking election are not qualified for the respective positions and I personally am uneasy about the possibility of electing people who have a proven track record of running with the hare etc as is the case right now.
PcPlod has been on here againg taking a stab at FOCR. For someone who is seeking support at this time, its not the time to blaming others.
I for one would not invest a cent under the current leadership and I am not sure anyone else would either.

the FOCR are 2-3 months ago, its you that seem to bring them more often than not,
of the current commitee only 2 will srill be there, the chairman and secretary, how exactly do think the condidates arent quailified to do the job, these are buiness minded people, willing to give a lot of there spare time to help cobh ramblers, how much of your spare time are you or any of us giving compared to the commitment these people are taking,
and dont bother saying you know people interested, but wont get involved, cause you, me, and everyone else has gone down this road, if these people really cared, they would have shown there heads by now, instead of letting a club they love ROT

Can you tell me exactly what the qualifications are for running a club?
You were a treasurer previously weren't you, what exactly are your qualifications?
Or was it from your business experiece that you stood in the position.
There are Financial Controls after being implemented and and it will be the job of the committee to ensure that these controls are adhered to.
There is no re-inventing of the wheel, it has been re-invented.
What we need is experience and any good business person will tell you that experience is far more valuable than qualifications and I feel there is a huge amount of business experience in the candidates that are going forward.

Why should I be seeking support I am not running for election so I really dont care whether or not people agree with me! I am here to speak my mind and have the best intrests of Cobh Ramblers at heart.
Who of those running are not "qualified" in your opinion to be on the committee because if the new people running dont meet your criterea then the current lot certainly cant? So what do you propose we do? Since they are the only ones who put themselves forwrd for these jobs, it would have been easy for them to not run like so many else but they know that if they do not take a direct approach to our problems and fast then we will end up with no club

With regard to qualifications, is there a night course in UCC/CIT/TIT on how to be a committee member.

There are three currently serving who are all up for nomintions for positions t Sundays AGM

You think my worlds confusing - wat about some of the nominees going for Committee!.
Allies to the Chairman for vote of NO confidence, end of August they summoned an Info meeting -they had turned against the Chairman, December they are back by the Chairmans side cos it suited them as now can be seen and THEN at last meeting they were stratigically placed around the room to take the chairman down.
Then they requested the committe resign - also they send out letters and stated at meetings they never have any intention in going forward for any committe positions and now there are up for votes(sending out manifesto's on their campaign trail)
...
NOW THATS CONFUSING!

Totally agree with your no on the fence comment. Everyone is going to vote at the EGM for or against, so theres no point in pretending that there is a third option out there! Present chairman = LOI and Progress. The alternative pretenders = MSL bankruptcy and doom!

I think that was a misprint bella, the echo said their new daily figure is €750,000, down €210,000 on their figure of the 21st December last. - must be a massive drop in inflation!
But dont hold your breath, tomorrows figure might be 3 or 4 million. They will probably meet in a phone booth tonight to decide on that!
wasnt he the guy on radio the other day saying how bad things were, so on 21st of dec ye owed 540000 all the paers say it is 750000, ye must have had one hell of xmas lads where did the 210 k come from, no wonder you couldnt submit books if 210 k debt was being covered up

I don't believe it was Redshanks that off was reffering to.
The Chairman as stated already has another term to serve so there is no point in arguing over if ur for or against him at this stage.
Time to stop the constant battle over 1 man and make this club about the members as a whole and the the full range of playing teams!
See the ficking wood from the trees, if the focus doesn't come off the Chairman and on to the club then we will be gone!

Finally, if I have something constructive to bring to attention of fellow members at any meeting - then I will gladly speak ,
thats if I can get my word in between the tit-fot-tat bickering that goes on down there, and also the sniggering and ridiculing that happens when all members(from both sides) speak though the chair

where do we go from here, god only knows, best suggestion yesterday was to give the club to the schoolboys. What a waste of time, 2 hours to cancel a meeting, also felt that the finance committee should have been discussed further but when a member stood up to point this out all the FOCR's just walked right past him
