i attended the above last night and was initially dissapointed with the turnout
(approx 70 plus players) but on recollection and taking into consideration that alan and dermot had not an awful lot of time to get the news out i thought that the amount raised was quite decent. the auction was very good and all did a very good job. it was great to see the players there and shows that they are genuinely interested in playing for sligo rovers. so i think for a change lets lift the doom amd gloom and give everybody a clap on the back.

I suppose it's a bit early to ask but was much raised altogether? Well done to everybody involved. Shows a great spirit to do something like this. Hopefully by next weekend we could be getting close to that magic 60k.
Important to keep harrassing folks on the 2 euro fundraiser. It's like pulling teeth with some people!
Well done again lads.

It was a very enjoyable night; the lads who organised it at short notice deserve great credit. I'm told there are over a hundred members in the Rovers section of this forum, I know some are not based in Sligo but to frantically type comments on here about what's wrong with the club and the mc and then not bother to attend last night denotes a shallow breed of people.
Where was everyone who filled the dance floor in Toffs after the Bray game?

totally agree with you knappagh very disappointing turnout by our supporters. Congrats to dermot and alan on a professional display and effort, as i said pity about the support given to the night. Again knappagh one would have to wonder where were all the supporters who were in toffs that night, was this not as important? Once again thanks to the two boys.

Sounds like a poor turnout alright.

Any word on how much was made from donations at the door or prices the auction items were sold for?

sligoman i know you were away so you can be excused for not been there last night, but as knappagh said what about the other fans. The total could have been two r three thousand better if they were an other 30 people in the room, dont know total, maybe dermot can help us out on that one????

We can get 2000 at the Showgrounds yet only about 70 of those turn up for a fundraising night. I know we're in recession and money is tight but officially this night was free entry so people who haven't a lot to spend only had to pay for their drink.

Don't think there was anything on last night that this clashed with?

Over 400 at Tommy Fleming in the Radisson. Could have had an effect on it.

There wasn't enough time to advertise it properly. Still a decent amount of money raised( just over €5500, as will be reported in the local media so can say it here). May not seem like much but there's still a lot of fundraising coming.

The race nights are on Friday. They are crucial. Details will be on the Trust site soon. The Golden Goals are in The Troubador Lounge, Caheny’s Bar, McLean’s and Hennigan’s. They cost €5, with a prize of €200 there is no reason not to so please try to visit the bar’s and buy some.

DSC have some irons in the fire. All in all, it is still very possible, but only if people make the effort. Tis kind of stupid saying it here cos the majority are the ones giving at the moment.

The club are launching a new fund raiser, where the winner of a draw gets to take one mate with him, and they'll accompany the team to the european games in the summer.

This draw will be fixed. Paul Cook will win it and he'll bring Gerry Carr.

Great Idea. Although i wonder would it be as profitable as you think. Still good idea, and fair play to whoever keeps coming up with these ideas and implementing them.:)
