How much should give as a wedding present for a friend, these days?

€100 would be typical, but if its like your best friend since childhood or something like that then you might want to give like €250 or €500 if you can afford it.

What KevB76 said. Another factor is whether it's just you or you and a partner.

EDIT: FFS don't give them tokens. I'm sure the people that bought myself and the wife Meadows & Byrne tokens meant well, but we ended up with €460 worth, for a shop that basically carries nothing but pretentious shνte.

Its a while since i've been to anything but a family wedding so didn't want to be scabby!!!!

€100 would be a safe bet for a cousin or other family, they wouldnt expect more unless they know you won the lottery or something.
Like Dodge said, cash is best - it might seem impersonal but it'll be appreciatred more. Weddings are extremely expensive but a bit of cash from each guest/couple goes some way toward easing the burden.

Last year I gave my cousin 200 and my mate 200.

I'm groomsman in a few months to one of my best mates and will probably up it to 400/500....depending on how I get on in the bookies between now and then:D

If its family or friends then €200, if its a good friend €250.

From experience its 150/200 fora couple and 100 if going by yourself.
