Hi lads

Just a few question up for discussion on the new mayo league rules on naming the first 16 players

1. Once 16 players are named is there any transfer allowed ?
2. If a B player plays a certain number of game is he regarded as A player etc?:ball:

My understanding of the rules is that:
1. Transfers are allowed but I think its only one transfer per player per season.
2. The B team players can play as many games as they like for the A team but the A team can only play 3 B team players in any one match.

first and foremost its very time consuming two police match cards on the number of B-Team players on cards.
You would expect clubs to mark match cards with B for those players who are on cards,
Failing to do so, you could only bring in the club or remove the team at the end of the season, plus fine
deduction of points would be out of the question, as this would be a gray area

This is an old chestnut naming 16 players. How do you know that the 16 players are really 16 A team players, Clubs have been abusing this rule by naming players who may never play or may signed and move on.
The purpose of this to make sure the B team would have players of A team standard.
There is only one simple answer to this ,that is separate panel

the A players (the 16) have to be players that was with the club the previous year and had to be playing - not old names of players that were retired!

I never mention retired players, What I was saying is that I can name 11 first team player and 5 donkeys, and end up taking three players from the so called B Team put them into my A team, still use them for the B team. this practice is been done by clubs who have B team, its away around the rules. it called a loop hole.
Did you not here clubs complaining last year, how they played players in B teams who were constant used in A teams this to accommodate those who may not start week in.
The other 5 donkeys where often GAA PLAYERS who may reside in the club area, may play 1 game a year.
or can you remember the blond bomb shell player or the Mayo Alstar.
finally just because a player didn't play with an A team last year u or the league can't decide what team he should play for, the only person who can decide that, is the Manager.

One proposal for the mayo agm is for A teams to name 16 bona fida A team players and only 5 B team players in any game. any thoughts
