Have a look at this (http://foot.ie/showthread.php?t=110029), and are you still covered in warranty?

tx man (warranty gone!)
but i might get it fixed locally, there are apparently a good few computer repair places around. Its a cheap Fujitsu laptop but it has a good lot of stuff saved on my computer that i ouldlike to save.
I was looking at prices and would i be correct in saying that it could cost rouhly about 130 sterling?

Replacing a monitor isn't that hard, so i'd look at the prices. If there's a big difference then look at doing it yourself.
Also, if i were you i'd buy and external hard drive and store everything on that. If anything happens to your laptop you'll still have everything on the drive.

A mate of mine has just used that site ...
Got the replacement screen on Friday, fitted it within 10 minutes and the PC is back up and running as good as new. The customs declaration was to the value of €49 dollars so didn’t have to pay anything extra on this side.
All in all, its a great service.

Yup, what you might have to do is open it up (small screwdriver) and lift out the screen and get the exact code on it and then they send that exact one to you and you fit it. Just look at the screws and clips, should be fairly straight forward.
My mate was saying that the screen cost him $85 but ...

So they are clued in that way as well. I think the limit is €65 and you have to pay customs declaration fee.

Yeah, they are tiny. You'd pick up a set for that size for about a fiver.
