Yeah i walways wondered what happened to Niall Byrne..i remember when we signed him everyone was saying how class he'd be an how he scored more goals than michael owen in liverpools reserves or youth team and then he scored the winner for us in the fai cup 2nd round replay in turners cross when we beat cork 2-1..and then think he played maybe one or two games after that and then totally vanished an was never heard of again

maybe martinho youd kno a bit more about him...

as for sini savic..te greatest con of a player ever to play for us :)

Yeah Byrne disappeared after the foot and mouth break the league took if i remember correctly. From what I heard he had a problem with the auld drink but don't be taking that as been the truth, its just what I heard.

As far as I know he did go off the rails a little at that stage alright. He was down a couple of years ago for Shane Brennan's game, he was doing some coaching in Dublin at that stage he's done a few coaching badges. He seemed to be more settled, he'd still be in touch with Paul McNally and Vinny I think. Sini Savic was last spotted graduating from Leeds University with some sort of business degree, it was posted on here some place. Eric Smith was playing Leinster Senior League a few years ago with Glenmore Dundrum, don't know where he is now.

Byrne was down at Flancare for the Derry game that saw us relegated. He's mates with Maccer, Vinny and Garto still as far as I know and doing some coaching in the LSL.
Don't know about Eric Smyth, he's still kicking about and he was due to be down for the testimonial but neither his house phone nor mobile seemed to be working in the week leading up to it and never showed.
Trevor Donnelly, I can only speculate, is incarcerated in a rest facility or correction facility somewhere considering his bouts or agression on the pitch at times.

Hmm..he disappeared from Longford almost overnight when he was with us if I remember rightly. There were various rumours as to why that would be the case, none of which could be posted on here naturally. He did have a great fondness for Blazers though by all accounts.

I think Smyth had a spell up North with Newry or someone but cant remember if that was before or after his stint with us.

Trevor Donnelly played for us during the Cleary era. Was a winger/striker joined from Home Farm Everton if I remember correctly!! Think he scored the goal against Avondale United when they beat us 2-1 in the second round of the FAI Cup.

Their most notable achievement in the FAI Senior Cup was a victory over Longford Town in 1995, before losing to Shelbourne.

Frankie Larkin was a left winger who played with us during Mickey O'Connor's reign of terror!!! Think he was only 17-18. Was really talented but never got a proper run under O'Connor.
