Hope he gets well soon.

He wasn't in the first team at Stockport as Jim Gannon who signed him was bringing strickers on loan from other clubs Craig Davies from Wolves and now Dave Mooney.
Some County fans had high hopes for him as Stockport beat Norwich City to his signature, 'and sure if Norwich wanted him he must be good'.

He has done a job for Stockport the odd time, game on with a minute to go at Crewe and still scored in a 3-0 win.

Stockport where never going to get the best out of him playing him as a loan striker. He needs a target man next to him. Thompson will score goals at that level, I'm convinced of that but only if they play him in a setup that plays to his strengths. He was never a lone striker not at Irish League level let alone League 1

Pistol would have been going to some other club on the mainland.
