Just looking at the games to go and how they're going to pan out...

DERRY
H v. Bohs 0-2
H v. Rovers 1-1
A v. Waterford 1-1

DWOGHEDA
H v. Bohs 1-2
A v. Cork 0-0
A v. Shels 0-1

UCD
A v. Pat's 1-1
H v. Longford 2-0

Final table
Drogs 36-8-11-17-37-50-35
UCD 36-7-13-17-28-40-34
Derry 36-5-16-15-32-54-31

Derry are on a woeful run of form and everyone concerned with the club seems to think the worst. They played 5-4-1 in Cork and were almost settling for a 0-0 by all accounts. They could get something from Rovers or Waterford, but I don't think they'll get enough.
Drogs have a very tough run-in (top three sides - two title contenders and Cork looking to get into Europe) and we could conceivably catch them, even though we need to win in Richmond and against Longford or have Drogs lose all three games.
We've got probably the easiest run-in - Longford hopefully in a dead game and us due a result against them, and a very iffy Pat's side.

It looks as though we'll get into the play-offs yet! I reckon we'd have to be favourites given the gap between the Premier and the First and the fact that we're in very good form lately.

Or is this just another manifestation of my insane optimism???

I'd basically agree with you there only I think Derry will only get one point (draw with Rovers) and I don't see the Dwogs getting anything from their three games. If we could put Doolo into the play-offs on goal difference I'd wet myself with delight...

We have two games, and they are both winnable, so we should go out and win them and we'll be unlucky not to stay up.

Yeah but you'd probably be playing us who are in even better form than you lot (unbeaten in 11 and 5 wins on the bounce) and we weren't absolutely outclassed by Longford in the cup by any stretch. Over two legs I'd still make you favourites but only just about. Should be interesting...

Hey, we can only beat what's put before us! You might not be looking down your nose at the First next season though! ;)

I hope I won't be looking at the first at all next season!
