Derek is off to Blackburn on Friday for a nine month work placement as part of his Sports Science degree. What an opportunity!! Having known Derek for an awful long time now, I would like to congratulate him on his placement, and wish him all the success in the world whilst over there.
It couldn't happen to a better, nicer lad who has put more than most into the game in Limerick. All the best kid!!!...:ball::ball:

and so say all of us.derek was one of our few outstanding players until his career was cut short through injury.he scored some crucial and outstanding goals for the club and hopefully might return in the future in a different capacity:ball:

It would be nice to see him return in a coaching capacity at some stage. He was a very loyal player. His experience over there would surely benfit Limerick.
All the best Derek.
Just read about this yesterday in one of the Leader supplements from last week, great news altogether, what a placement to get as well.
Good luck to Derek

Well done Derek. Ive had the pleasure of talking to him a few times about Limerick out in UL and he is an absolute gentleman. Does anyone know if he organised this placement through Sam Allardayce's link with Limerick FC? Either way what a great experience for him and something i'm sure we all would like to do.

Fair play to him its a great oppurtunity! What age is Derek now? Did he go to U.L. as a mature student?
