Even allowing for over estimation soemthing like 3500 average is good basis for club to progress.

I reckon some of those figures are wrong (up and down) but the average of around 4,000 is about right.....which is very good. Hopefully there will be an improvement next year too.......

i think the core numbers are growing which is very good news for the club.

i don't htink our crowds are quite that hight, eg longford on tuesday night i'd say was less than 1500 and i don't think there was more than 2000 at ucd.

as for the 5500 and 6000 not sure we've gotten those sort of numbers at all this season let alone the 5/6 times listed

There's a huge thread about that elsewhere. Bohs have released the exact figures they got for games this year and its come as a massive shock to their fans.

While acknowledging that yours are the best by a mile, I think those figures could be giving a false impression

And before anyone starts, this isn't me having a go at Cork, I think all clubs are guilty of this. For the Pats Drogheda game a couple of weeks ago, the Star had 3,300 at it. I doubt it was half that.

i don't think the clubs are 'guilty' of this, so much as the media. I don't think any of the clubs have the facilities to produce official, accurate attendances until at least the day after a game (counting tickets, etc.) so the press seem to just guess how many they think are there and report that.

Sorry meant fans of all clubs.

I think CCFC have improved no end in recent years & probably most consistent crowds for 2-3 years that i've ever seen.

I thought there was more like 2000 at Longford last tuesday - slpkit 50:50 between Donie Forde Stand & the rest of the ground. Presumably given the day & circumstances that must be our core support now. In other years crowds have dropped as low as 500 for the odd UCD game.

3500 at Rovers was good given the dire Longford game so close & recent apparant home performances.

Its all about the core support a club can rely on as big crowds only as good as the low ones.

Would agree about out basic core increasing. I remember being at games not too long ago where there mightn't even have been 300 at the game...thinking in particular a match V Monaghan that was the last game of the season maybe 3/4 years ago.
Thinks have improved but I still think the clubs could do more to release exact attendances numbers during the game.
It wouldn't be that difficult if they were organised. If they can do it at Landsdowne they can do it at the Cross within 90 mins.

The Star had our game with the student menace down as having 8500 in attendance.

More like 3500.

theres a lot of faking attedances. look no further than finn harps.
anyway, it always makes a fan more insulated when the start comming up with there own ideas on attendences we get.

LOL, the average is growing already :D

Until all clubs sort out their ticketing and publish the actual attendance figures it'll always be guess work.... On Bohs, interesting that their money on the gate has gone up this year even though their fans reckon the attendance has gone down....
