FIFA Nominations 2002

Congratulations are in order for Alan Kelly, Cork, 26; David McKeon, Dublin, 29; Ian Stokes, Dublin, 29 on their nominations for a FIFA Referee Badge. A brave initiative on the part of the FAI to nominate three young officials.
Here's hoping at least one of them is successful.

Just like to add my congrats to the lads - it's a great honour to get the nomination at such a young age. Irish refs/assts who earn their FIFA badges represent our league and our country every bit as much as our clubs do in UEFA competitions. We should be proud of them - they usually get a little bit further than the teams, too!

Thanks also to Réiteoir for keeping us up to speed with the refs info - I'm certainly glad of it as I do a regular referee feature in the CCFC programme. I'd be glad of any stuff anyone can send me anytime. I'm currently trying to suss when each NL ref first made the league panel, and then when he moved from the flag to the whistle.
Any help appreciated.
