View Full Version : Did....
anyone else bang their head on their fall downward last Saturday night?
I know one game doesn't make us a bad team but given an early chance to put distance between us and the drop the team bottled this oppertunity and that of a decent league finish, that and to buck a recent trend which tends to see FAI cup winners suffer in the league....

It will also be worrying to Longford that they appear to have lost their way, in the league at least, in the latter half of the season. The midlanders have low lost five of their last six games at home in the league, and, on 35 points, are just two points above Drogheda. They have at least two games in hand on all the relegation principals, but Alan Matthews will be keen to convert them into points sooner rather than later so that the fate of recent FAI Cup winners does not befall them - Dundalk, the early 2002 champions, are now in the lower regions of the First Division while last season’s champions Derry City look certainties for a relegation play-off place at least this time around.
Thought we played alright first half, and if all their men had been sent off that should've been we would of been okay (before the Dwogs start I think Dillon should've gone for retaliation as well as the fella that made the tackle). Hancock was again pathetic and had no control over the game.
(btw anyone remember the last time we won when he was in charge. Last one I remember was Harps in their relegation season when we beat them 4-2 (I think) and even then he tried)
In many ways it mirrored the last time we played at home, and confirms we must get it on the deck and play football. Everytime we did, we carved them open (we did after all hit the bar twice).
If Derry are certainties for the relegation playoff at least, and UCD are below them, why is it a worry according to that reporter?
It is a worry at the moment if we don't pick up points in both this weeks games, but that report doesn't make sense....
thats alot of postive spin to put on an inept performance... It's certainly not as dire as that piece would put it but it's worrying, you still have to wonder that if Drogs, Derry and UCD were'nt as **** poor as they have been where would we be?
Basically we have to start playing football again - Drogs would'nt have been able to live with us (as up in their place)... The problem is consistency.....
My biggest worry is how reliant we are on Kirby - only notice it when he's not there.....

would barrett be a good man to play on the right when kirby is not around, with his pace and ball skills i think he would be ideal
