Foley own goal puts Shels back on top
St Patrick’s Ath 0-1 Shelbourne
A first half own goal by St Patrick’s Athletic defender Colm Foley handed Shelbourne all three points at Richmond Park on Friday night, in the process sending the Drumcondra side back to the top of the Premier Division table.
Bohemians, who took over at the top with Tuesday night’s victory over Shels, slipped up at home to Waterford also on Friday night, and that allowed Shels to move two points clear at the summit with six games remaining.
The crucial moment at the Stadium of Light came just short of the half hour mark, when Foley turned a Richie Baker cross past Chris Adamson.
