View Full Version : And the new Cork City Manager is......
Just listening to TodayFM and that sports irritant from Tipp was saying that Neil O'Riordan has a piece in todays Irish Scum that Billy Morgan was offered the Cork City job.
He'd be cheaper than Jeff Kenna thats for sure. :D

The rumours he'd been interviewed were circulating alright.
I think it'd be the single most stupid appointment in the history of CCFC, I wouldn't let him sprinkle holy water during Noelle's day off let alone manage a football team [proper football, not the pulling and dragging the GAA tries to pass off as such]. TC needs to let go of his 100% Cork obsession, next thing he'll be turning away supporters not born with sight of the Turner's Cross church steeple.
I think it'd be the single most stupid appointment in the history of CCFC,
And that's saying something :D

The exact phrase that suits this situation. Brilliant stuff.
I'm sick of telling people about how great this league is. You wouldn't get this in Serie A

The only good thing to come out of the story is that he turned it down.
I used to think that CCFC was a soap opera, it's good that during the Christmas period we've turned into a panto.

Yes..the Cork GAA...a very reputable establishment...
If only Gerald McCarthy was available.

Id say he thought the appointment might encourage some of the GAA folk out to City.
And there was me thinking Harps board were mental, Coughlan is a nut job and will be looking to appoint Sean Óg next.
Emmerdale, Eastenders and Corrie combined couldn't hold a candle to the story lines in this league.

I actually knew this three days ago but wouldn't post it here because of the Boy Roy situation that you also found out about after I did. I also knew how to get to Amarillo before Tony Christie even asked the question.

Nah, that would be John Myler ex-Wexford hurling manager ;-)
Actually maybe it is between him and Teddy Holland for the role?

I work in Xtra Vision weekends. My manager is pretty good. No soccer experience at all mind you, but a good manager. Should she keep her phone on over the next few days in case?
Cork City are being run weirdly. Wonder what the players think of all this.
We can do better than Billy Morgan. Mick O'Dwyer?

He's obviously modelling his approach on the Cork hurlers and heavily buying into the idea that there's no such thing as bad publicity.

I feel embarrassed as a City fan atm. Coughlan really seems like such an idealistic person, a GAA coach would never make the grade in soccer, too many formations, too much tactics and not enough shouting and throwing things, will TC see the Powerade ad and then sign the Munsterconnaught fella?
EDIT: Try to sign the Munsterconnaught fella, even ur man knows what a bad idea it is to sign for us at this stage

Dave barry has always said that he was first and foremost a soccer player who played gaa and not as was widely reported a gaa player who played soccer.
