If he gets the Cork Job he may be managing an A league team the way Mr. Coughlin is doing his business. Alan Matthews deserves to take them to the cleaners if this is true.

If what is true? If they hire a new manager?
Would've thought Galway would be happy to lose a few people from the wage bill given your debts.

Were there any other options but Coughlan. Not rumours, but did the examiner actual have other offers on the table?
Three formal bids went to the examiner.
There were loads of 'celebrity tyre kickers' as Alan Mathews and Tom Coughlan referred to them (while the pair were still BFFs) who didn't follow up with the examiner.
I seriously worry for Cork Citys future with this man in charge. Ive spoken to two very well known Corkonians in the past few weeks about Mr. Coughlan and they feel that the man has no money behind him and no coherent plan. Matthews sacking seems to have shocked the majority of City Supporters who thought they had finally turned the corner and were moving forward together.

I dont have a problem with him having no money, the last thing we need is another sugar daddy, once he sets the club up in a sustainable manner.
He obviously had a coherent plan that impressed the examiner but whether he will follow through on it or not is another thing

A sugar dadly is the second last thing we need, the last thing we need is an owner with no money. If an owner with no money is acceptable we might as well have picked someone off the forum to do the job.

Or maybe being a good salesman he was able to bull**** the Examiner?

If someone off the forum can set the club up in a sustainable way(sort out backpay creditors etc) then id have been happy to give it to them tbh.
All i care about is the club being set up so that when Coughlan leaves, for whatever reasons, we can carry on and have a club. Il worry about success and all that later on when ive recovered from the heart attack that was this season.
The club needs to be sorted top to bottom, proper structures put in place. If someone did this, and only this, before moving on then I would be extremely grateful.
Thats not to say I think coughlan will do it, to be honest I havn't a clue what he's up to or how it'l work out.
After Arkaga I'l distrust everyone until theyve earned differently. Coughlan certainly hasn't thus far but I'l give him time to see if he can change that before making up my mind
Or maybe being a good salesman he was able to bull**** the Examiner?
Its a possibility I guess. Id hope an examiner would know better though
Tis a wonder you didn't want to drop Caulfield as well :D He hasn't got the managers job yet so theres still time. :D

I disagree, not having money would obviously hurt us badly until the start of next season, but Cork City brings in enough money to be run as a self-sustaining entity once costs (and expectations) are realistic. We need to know whether the money is there or not, most importantly, the players and others relying on TC now need to know if there's money there or not.
Once we start to bring in sponsorship revenue and gate receipts there's no reason why we couldn't sustain the 16 players and small off field staff TC has talked about.
The fact that we've exited examinership and apparently have not answered the debts agreed for our clean bill of health is a massive concern, but the examiner made sure that the bidders had funds available that could cover those debts, that's absolutely certain. If people later decided not to put those disclosed funds towards the club, it's not the examiner's fault [though it could possibly be a matter for the courts??], it rests on the conscience of the man who made the disclosure.
