What? Dishwashers are Technology too you know. :)

Mine ...a Whirlpool ADP4400 has never been a show pony -not even brand new out of the box which is four or five years ago now.

Anyway I THINK the pump has gone on it. It switches on it whizzes and whirrs. There's some water going into it but it isn't being fired at any pressure so the arms don't spin. Anyone encountered this? I know the obvious answer is call a plumber but is it worth it when you factor in cost of parts and labour?

Would I be better off just cherishing the good times and letting the thing go?

Oh it's more complicated than that ...we're in the mid-to-end game of selling our house and we'd kind of hoped to leave this donkey behind us and start anew with a decent dishwasher elsewhere.

Yours confused and conflicted,
LR

Not the same model, but it happened to mine a few years back and there was a kink and blockage in the water inlet hose, going to the pump.

Edit: It was actually the line going to the intake valve that had the kink and the screen inside the intake was blocked too.

there definitely isn't a kink but I'll check to see if I can get at that valve and screen dealy to see if there's a problem there and I'll post back results. Thanks.
