I have already expressed the opinion that cookie will not keep him because of his lack of discipline. he is a whole hearted player but has cost us too many vital points with stupid and clumsy tackles.

Ive always liked him as a decent player and for his versatility. But it must be said that he is one of those players you feel has a mistake in them in every game.

no. he has signed a contract for the rovers and no way would cook let him go
he epitimizes everything that cook preaches i.e. determination, wholeheartedness and 150% effort and a good character to boot!

Not our best player by a long shot, but the type of player every club needs.

Found it very hard to forgive the lad after his penalty against Galway last season. It just summed him up. Short wee run up, close your eyes and hit it as hard as you can. I just knew he'd blow it. No soccer in him.
Gives 110%. In it for the cause. But if i was manager I'd have him in purely to motivate others around him and create competition within the squad.

I dunno..can't say that I don't have a fond spot for the lad. Has come on leaps and bounds since the afore mentioned league cup game and is a player that can play anywhere, always gives 100% and don't forget, he started more games than anyother rovers player last season. I certainly hope to see the guy in a rovers shirt next season and any criticism of the lad is a bit for a want of a better word ancient imo.

What short run-up? Did you expect to start his run up out in Strandhill? A miss in penalty shoot out does not sum anybody up.

Anyway only for Danny at the very end of the year we would not have done it. He actually pulled his hamstring midway through the first half v Shams and would not come off, there was nobody else to take his place if he did decide to come off, sums him up to me, deffo would hang on to him.

He also has a contract with us so doubt very much if he is going anywhere.

He did take a short run-up so why are you confused?and if he had pulled his hamstring he would have been coming off!it's not exactly something you can run off!good squad player in my opinion.

I am pretty sure if you look at the video of youtube there was no short run up, (Bad Peno though). You can't run off a hamstring but you can pull it and play on. Anyway he told me that himself an thats why the club had him as a doubt for the Cork game the week after. ;)

I reckon he's a decent player. Very competitive. Possibly better in midfield as a scrapper than in defence where his tendancy to make mistakes has been punished and proved very costly.
I think we're better off with him in the squad.

In a team with such a small squad a player of Danny's versatility is worth more than his footballing abitlity.

Frustrating at times to watch but I think he's contributed to the team as much as anyone if not more than most.

Hope this is not true. Completley agree what Only1Rovers said above.

Granted, he makes a few silly tackles, isnt the most skilled player in the world and can be frustrating to watch him play sometimes but the man puts in 110% every game and is imo by far the most improved player this season and a complete legend. What a hat in Cork

I make silly tackles, am not the most skilled player in the World and can be frustrating to watch play sometimes but I put 110% into every game. Can I have a professional contract, please?.
